Thanks! I did check this one out online and it does get great reviews. I also just spoke with Sony Live Chat support and the gentleman assured me their cover/Lightwedge is supposed to be perfectly clear.

There is some glare from the Mighty Bright, but it's pretty easy to move the head around to get rid of the glare and also keep the whole page lit up.

Excellent-thanks! I think I may head over to B&N or Borders today to pick a Mighty-Brighty up to try. I was so bummed out about the Sony cover/LightWedge, but this might prove to be much, much better in the long run.

BTW, a Borders information clerk suggested I buy a "Book Owl" clip-on reading light which I did. DO not bother with this one as the light not only comes put of the bottom, but also out of the top & front, blinding you while you look down at the page. I even tried painting several coats of red (to match the light & 505) nail polish on the top/front to block the beam of light - didn't work well at all. Also, the neck is pretty short and not able to bend the glare spot out of the way.

Maybe we need a thread for "shitty devices" (AKA do not buy)?? IMO,the Book Owl would be at the top of the Light category!

I ended up picking up the MightyBright ExtraFlex2 light yesterday and I think my dreams have come true. I really love my 505 now!!! I used the light in bed while my husband slept and the light didn't bother him a bit. My old stand alone Lightwedge did and he commented when I tried the Sony Cover/Lightwedge that it was like a searchlight beacon in the room. I clipped the MightyBright ExtraFlex2 light on the top right corner of the cover, pointed the light towards the left to illuminate the screen, and used the lower of the 2 light settings - PERFECTION!! The neck is long and flexible enough to move so that there is absolutely no glare on the page.

Very happy with my choice of reader, light and current ebook!

I was looking around for a long time before I decided to buy this:
http://zelcocom.nationprotect.net/Me...de=ReadingAids

But I must say, I am not happy with it. Glare on my PRS-505 is so strong, that I can't use it properly. If I move it to the side, to get rid of it, light intensity is decreasing significantly.

Is this Mighty Bright really glare free?

No glare problem for me, but the secret is the extended neck which can be moved to a "perfect, sweet spot". I arched the light so that the brightest spot appeared just right of the screen and the light glow (all technical terms, I assure you) bathed across the screen. You can't just plant the light right over the screen, but that might impede your view anyway! It's the only one I've loved.

My son was home from college this weekend for a little break. I had my assortment of book lights on the counter that I had tried and found lacking for one reason or the other. He said, "How many books lights do you need?". I told him just one. And when I find it, i promised I would let him know. ahahahah

Yeah, the glare is easy to get rid of, but yet while still illuminating the whole screen.

I think it must be due to the long neck as I've not been able to achieve the same "unglare" with others.

My Booklight
+1. I have one and find it plenty bright. No problems with glare. The light is not perfectly uniform, but still brightens the entire screen of the 505. It's also very cheap, so if you don't like it - no great loss.

It holds the charge for almost a month at a time. (I read a couple of hours a night every night with it.) If I forget to recharge it one night then I can charge it about 30 minutes and it will be full bright again. (No way to tell if it is fully charged because ther eis no battery life indicator)

I don't like it clipped on my book (or eBook) but I can set it so that I can lay on my side and it will still light up my book. Or I can lay on my back and set it on my chest.

I've used it for about 2-3 years. Hubby gave it to me for Mother's Day but I can't remember WHICH Mother's Day... I've used it everywhere including the car with no problems!

It stays charged so long that I never even bring the charger on vacation with me. Like this time I was gone about 10 days and I didn't bother to bring the charger. (I haven't got as much reading done as I'd like however because I've been too pooped at night to read!)

Anyway, I can't say enough good things about it. It has really worked well for me.
Your link no longer works. What brand is it?

Anyone here suffer from migraines? I do, so I am super sensitive to light glare. Does anyone know which lights don't hurt your eyes? I have a Sony PRS-505 so I would like to clip it to my cover. Thanks!
