However, if you made it re-mappable so that it could be assigned to any existing function, I would probably assign it as a next-page button.

Defenitely dictionary look-up, so I can spell 'definitely' right the first time.

The possibilities to use this button are endless ...

A randomizer
Push it and the Cybook will jump to any page in any eBook! A fun for the whole family!

A distress call
Push the button to inform Bookeen that you're still waiting for the next §$%& firmware update, while connected via USB!

A stress releaser
Push it and a chillout music will fill the air while a screensaver with pictures of unimaginable beauty (im b&w and 4 greyscales) will appear!

An exerciser
Push it as often as you can to strenghten the muscles of your fingers. Supported by your local health care!

A shape changer
Push the button and experience the magic of your Cybook transforming into a Kindle, a PRS-505 or a brick (whatever you like)!

Well.. Sony has proven that just because you don't have a delete button, does not mean you cannot delete your eBooks.

Yes, I don't get this quest for the delete button at all. Who needs to delete ebooks on the go?
On the other hand, the unused buttons (the volume buttons too) could be put to a much better use, e.g. lookup toggle, faster navigation, font size, bookmarking etc.

Some people like to delete a book or short story when they have read it. It will speed up navigation if you can delete read items.

But you surely don't need to sigle out a special button for it. I'm not a UI expert, but common sense tells me that a dedicated button you need for actions performed frequently to save time.
Ebooks you've finished reading could be conveniently deleted via a menu item.

Sure, I agree. The button should instead be used for dictionary lookup!

You'd *think*, but that would mean Bookeen actually digging into the guts of the mobipocket app - which also handles the library management - and implementing it within that app. Something tells me they're not that ready to do so.

But failure to dedicate that button to a Delete File app or to implement such a function within the library management shows a distinct lack of 'professionalism' in my book. If not Delete, then, yes, put in some *other* form of functionality to that key.
