I'm now using beta 6. And I did fix the error as you prescribed. but, using the command I posted as a ticket recently and the HTML I attached, the ePub generates a ToC that is supposed to have two levels of ToC. The 2nd level seems to be ignored. The 1st level is fine. It works perfectly in 0.5.14.

OK, I've been running beta-6 through it's paces over the past hour or so.. I came across something that may be a bug or a feature..

In 0.5.14 and prior you could set the font size for conversion (can't quite remember what it was called). Example, I find that 9pt is a good size for me, so I set that as the font size. The problem I've found is that I can't seem to find the corresponding field in the beta versions. Under Look & Feel/Base Font Size if I set it to 9pt the fonts are too small, and the only way to get something close to what my previous 9pt was is to set the Base Font Size to somewhere around 29.

I'm converting from various input formats to LRF.

Any help much appreciated..

Ah you mean the TOC has only one level? In that case re-open the ticket and I'll take a look at it.

The font rescaling algorithm has changed rather drastically. It works better for all the non LRF formats. the LRF output needs fine tuning. Open a ticket about it and I'll look at it when I have some time.

That's good to hear. Conversion to lrf is the main reason for me using calibre. Epub just doesn't cut it for me mostly due to the lack of justification and the fact that page numbers dont map 1 to 1 with my reader's screen size. I'll use the workaround posted above to get similar font sizes until such times as it can be fixed. I've also noted on news feed downloads that the font size in the news summaries is smaller than it was before. Opening the actual news article results in normal font size so i'm not sure if this is a bug or a feature?

Ok, that works for me theoretically speaking. However there's a bug here, and it doesn't obey that option when I choose it. The file still gets split.

Once this is functioning, will the following work from a workflow perspective?:
  1. Convert to epub without file splits
  2. Unzip and edit
  3. Zip the contents using the .zip extension and add back to calibre as a zipped html format
  4. Convert the zip to epub to have chapters generated & split

One other bug, the 'open containing folder' action doesn't work anymore in the betas.

I have a problem with lrf output in terms of formatting...
Under 0.5, the formatting looks pretty similar to that of the original lit file but under 0.6 beta, the formatting goes whacked... the logo which was supposed to be centered, wasn't. An extra empty line after the all the no-indent paragraphs.
I tried to open a ticket but it won't let me log in. Does the ticket site stores session by IP address?

Yes, the ToC only has one level when it should have two levels.

And the thicket has been created.

Thanks for the answer...

I've opened a ticket...

Can I make a suggestion that there be an option to have an absolute font size (similar to 0.5.14) as well as the font scaling options..

There are two kinds of splitting. Splitting on page breaks and splitting by file size. The option disables splitting on page breaks. To disable splitting by file size you have to specify the default profile as the output profile.
