If you're going to take something from Star Trek, ask for the Holodeck!

Nuh-uh, no sirree! Something always goes wrong on those holodecks, leading to panic, flashing red lights all over the ship, and generally blind visored engineers or Capt Janeway making heroic attempts to rescue crew members who are perilously trapped inside. No sirree, not for me. I'll stick with my Sony!

Okay... although we're getting a lot of nice suggestions, I was actually thinking more along the lines of things our technology can give us right now, if someone applies it properly. So, maybe not holodecks. But clean water and return to the Moon, sure. Carry on! |

Well on the sensible front - I'd love to see the use of companion and assistance robots become part of our everyday lives. It is starting to happen but the sooner the better I say Robotic House Research |

Clean air. Why can't we do a better job with that?

On a more on-topic note, I'd personally vote for a viable solar power system. Why the heck can't we figure that out? I've seen a few documentaries on alternative power sources, and the people living with solar power always have a wall of car batteries to store the energy in...so appealing to have in my house! Not.
