Nah, it's not offensive, I just find it amusing that mine wasn't like that at all. But then, heart attacks vary. Mine was mild (technically just an ischemia since they reopened the artery before any heart damage).

No, that's not it; she don't like to read (which is just sad)! She's the one to call me all excited to tell me she found it. Also she was one of 3 persons that put money together for my Sony PRS-505 for Christmas of 2007.

Good for you.

If you already have one, I recommend bringing your iPhone or iPod touch out of the house instead because of its portability and relative inexpensiveness compared to a Kindle.

This happens to me all the time, to a degree where I run around the house cursing the Kindle for being too flat. I mean, the Iliad, brick that it is, is kinda hard to overlook when it sits on the coffee table, whereas the Kindly gets very quickly covered in magazines and kids' toys. My solution: I bought two desktop letter holders (whatever they're called) and use them to store the kindle upright so I can see it at all times.

I had a little kid play a game on mine once. Obviously that didn't last long, after I saw him drop it

Whew! Glad you got it back!

I have a special bag that my Kindle lives in when I leave the house. A few other things are allowed to ride with it (my pda, sometimes, a set of earbuds in case I want to listen to a book, that kind of thing) but the Kindle is the principal occupant. So far this has worked well....

But that certainly is a cautionary tale.

Lily I am so glad you got yours back!!! I know the excruciating angst the you went through! i lost mine in an event. A kind soul returned it to the building administration.
I have heard a few good tips like place a document and "Owners info" file in your library and making it show up first in your library.
Also since you have a kindle, cna't you make your screen saver show your information too?

I placed a neon piece of paper on the back with my information and stating that a reward will be involved if found...

Did you write owner on it? What if you lose the cover? What if a rainstorm hits and you purchased the business card is of suspect quality and runs....

Having left a PRS-500 on an airplane once, I now tape my business card to the back. The airline lost & found couldn't help me, and sent me to the airport lost & found, which could not help me, and sent me to the airline lost & found, which could not help me, and ... errr
