I am thinking the Kindle 2 has a big advantage of being able to download from anywhere and having new releases at $9.99.

Absolutely..........just like the K1. And the Sony people would say the Kindl isn't available outside the US.

But.........for some reason, .........'sigh.

The Kindle people are not signing up here.......or if they are, they aren't posting.........

On the other hand Sony has a backlight, has expandable memory and is a bit cheaper.

Question for Kindle users- How long does the battery last between charges.
Quesion for Sony users- Is the battery replaceable without sending it in?

A huge problm with the Palm is the the battery is not replaceable.

My K1 has a replaceable battery, and expandable memory. As in SD card slot.

The battery will last me all week if I don't use whispernet, which really........isn't needed. Just handy,

OK one last question for tonight. We will be moving soon to the Wisconsin north woods. We do not get ATT or Sprint. I have been told that Kindle 2 has 3G. I do not think 2G would have worked up here. Do you think 3G would?

Have a good night! Great forum!

On the main kindle2 page, there is a map showing the newer coverage.

If its in the white area, I doubt you'll get coverage.

But nevermind, you can download to your computer and then upload to the kindle by dragging and dropping into the 'documents'......

Bring the kindle north of the boarder and I'd have one for sure. As it is now I have to keep on changing my mind on which reader to buy. leaning towards the pocket pro right now but the sony is available at the local Best Buy.

Kindle not going forward into the morrow, early poll figures clearly show a lagging in enthusiasm for those voting, perhaps the weather has reduced the poll-turnout. Or perhaps we are seeing the first sign of voter-fatigue......
