We do honestly apologise for the delay.
Our (very small) team is working on the firmware upgrade. We truly want to
offer a satisfactory solution. The public firmware upgrade is being
finalized.
It will be freely available from bookeen.com within the next weeks.
With it, you will be able to update your Cybook with the newest software
version. It will allow you to create folders and subfolders. Reflowable PDF
and Adobe DRMed ePub will be supported by the Cybook.

Best regards,
Bookeen Support Team

If we really get all that functionality with the update, it will be worth the wait. Thanks for posting!

Ah, well, all the weeks from today until eternity are fricking *NEXT*.
I take it that they're small, it takes them a lot of time to finish it, I'm OK with that, but once and for all they should learn not to give any time data, because very few people make worse time estimates than Bookeen.
Guys, just post it when it's done, you hear me?

I do so hope that this is a translation problem from the French.

I don't need the ability to CREATE Folders and subfolders while browsing the library on the Gen3 - that has always existed when you connect it to a PC as an external drive.
What I think that everyone has been asking for the the ability to display and NAVIGATE folders and subfolders in the Gen3's Library display.

That is at present the Library already works with books stored in folders, but displays them all in one list, without saying what folder they are in.

I don't see that much functionality in being able to create a new folder using a slow onscreen keyboard to enter a name.
It would be nice to be able to move books into a different folder either before or after reading them. (especially if the Mobipocket Desktop continues to only put books into a single directory).
BUT please please show the subdirectory name in the Library display, and allow us to navigate the subdirectories.

Martin.

The first part is already possible today. You can create folders with the name of an author and fill them with the his/her books. When you sort your library on filename, you will find all books from one author grouped. The Autor name is the folder name...well indirect. The problem is navigation. You cannot 'skip' to the next author. Or jump to an author starting with an 'S'

I don't really care about folders. What I really want is the possibilly to sort or jump on meta data. That will give me virtual folders and those are of much more use than fixed ones.
Today I want my books sorted on Author, tomorrow perhaps on Title, on Genre or on read/unread. This information is already available in the mobi format. They even use it in the library display.
This system will even work if all books are place in one big folder. More or less like MobiReader for the desktop.

As far as I know, that opinion is based solely on speculation and hearsay concerning Mobipocket licencing practices. Who knows, maybe Bookeen renegotiated the licence contract, or Mobipocket updated it to allow multiple DRM schemes on a single device... (And no, I don't believe in Santa. Nor the easter bunny.)
