Boy, if we keep up the pace, there'll be soon more units sold outside China...

BTW: I've ordered mine as a stand-in till the viliv X70 will be available.

I received my shipping info today. I am thinking it should be in my hands by 11 June.

Boy, looks like eletroworld is making a little fortune, and I think one of the reasons is the fantastic live session we had with Chippy at www.umpcportal.com.

@Chippy, should ask for a percentage.

As for flash support. I don't know for sure. On the manufacturer's website it had publicity photo using local YouTube imitator Toudou. I guess I will know when my Chinese units get here. The unit that I asked to send to me will have Chinese OS.
An unofficial news from zhiqi (SmartQ) fan site claims that from tomorrow Win CE would be available as the free upgrade if you bought or buy before 20th; or an optional upgrade (not free) afterward.

Do not know if it is for Q5 only or it is also available for Q7. But someone already installed CE on SD card to dual boot Q7. I don't think it is going to be hard to DIY. Unlike Linus, CE has acceleration for ARM.

anyway, I think gchuang can safely import 10 units. There are going to be plenty of interested buyers.

What would Win CE get you other than being able to use MS Reader?

Mobipocket DRM would be a possibility.

yes, I know that FBReader supports non DRMed MOBI. Unfortunately, FBReader drops a lot of the formatting. The reading experience is not as good as MobiReader.

better video performance, a decent H.264, flash and faster web.

Idea is that you can have book, web, music, and video on one device.

It's going to be dual boot. you know you can play with it when you want to.

I agree. In fact, count me as one of those interested buyers! Once you have pricing details, gchuang, let us know.

I've confirmed with e World that it will be Win CE 6.0 and it will be available within two days for the Q5 and sometime later for the Q7.

Here's part of the response from eletroworld.cn:

"That is right. We will bright out the WinCE system in this two days. This will be free. But it is not a official version. It only give the user to see a film or to link a GPS. So it only will be installed in the SD card to have a choose to boot with it. Now we finish the Q5 only, the Q7 will be later. And we will try to use the Android next."

Hmmm, "not a official version" = pirated?

How's that gonna clear customs?

Win CE 6 kernel is open source now. you can get it and do stuff with SDK. as long as you don't 'sell' your 'product', meaning charge for it, you don't pay license fee (I think).

I am not sure if eletroW 'upgrade' qualifies for that, since they don't 'sell' it. But Zhiqi's upgrade will not get around it. People believe they do have licenses though.
