Media/Calibre Error GUI2

Not only am I getting the error please delete media.xml error upon opening calibre - which I've tried the fixes they suggest and still errors- but I also am getting:

'list' object has no attribute 'add_book' Detailed traceback: Traceback (most recent call last):

Attribute Error?: 'list' object has no attribute 'add_book'

Help?

After deleting media.xml did you disconnect and wait for the arrows to stop spinning? Also when you connect your reader to calibre, wait for the hourgalss to stop spinning before trying to send books to it

Yes I wait for the arrows to stop spinning

. I wait until I can access my books, then re-plug in the device. Wait until it's recognized, open calibre. Wait and I still get an error. I've deleted the media.xml file at least a dozen times appropriately.

Also I do wait for the hourglass to stop moving, then I attempt to upload a book to the device. The hourglass does it's thing, it stops and I get the error listed above.

Sounds like your device is generating a corrupt a media.xml. Can you attach the media.xml here?

Here is the media.xml file that was created today when I plugged in my device. Same error as always.

Thanks for all the help. It's much appreciated. If I can't use Calibre, my sony would be a paperweight.

It does look corrupted, you can see that some of the author and title names have strange characters at their ends. Have you tried reformatting your readers memory?
