Here is a picture of it.... guess I can post those here too.... in case anyone is interested. It can be clipped either to the bookcover or you can clip it right on the unit itself, it has some rubbery stuff so it doesn't scratch. Also could be used for a little light on a desk, it sits upright on anything flat as well. It will work for me for now, see how much night reading I really do since I do most during daylight hours anyway. ![]()

Seems like that kind of light would cause a lot of reflection Karen, please let us know how you find reading with it. That's one of the reasons everyone is looking forward to the lightwedge, the light comes in from the side so no reflection in your eyes. I agree the lightwedge would be pretty awkward on a regular book where you turn pages, at least that's my opinion from looking at them in the store.

True about the reflection. I don't know I will try it out. What I bought is really no different than the one Sony recommends now other than the neck is actually just a little shorter and one led light less, other than that they appear to be about the same, I have a square clip that other has a round one....... As far as the lightwedige, I didn't realize they were making one for this reader? If they did that, does that mean they would have some kind of holes so that you can press to page etc? I didn't like the procedure of what would have had to been done to read/page/read..... Now if that lightwedge can remain in one place, and you can still page, then it's another story.... plus seeing it clip on somehow instead of just holding it there would also be nice. I guess I am going to keep my eyes open for this as well cause now it really has me curious what they would do to it over what is already out there.

![]() I would expect them to make the 'wedge' the same size as the display, and not to cover any buttons at all. As you observe, that would kind of defeat the purpose. I think it'll have to be the size of the display, as the display is recessed and the 'wedge' needs to be flush against it to work properly. To my thinking, the right or top edges are logical places to clip on, as there are no controls to interfere with on those edges. ![]() I agree, we'll have to wait and see what they actually turn out, but there you go.

Yep, I was hoping that it was the side light also. But it seems to be the clip on light. Also nice. (I saw one in San Diego, and it would be great to use.) I look forward to trying one for extended reading.

In the future, I'm sure there's going to be a market for the sidelight wedge also if the Sony Reader continues to be popular. And as people have observed, it should work much better on the Reader than on a book because you can leave it in place as long as the page turn button is available. |

Okay someone asked me about glare and this light. It really is not bad........all I really see in one part of the window is right where the beam is, but I have that towards the top.... so you see that extra light there, but glare doesn't seem to be a problem..... I can see the window from any angle. I tried putting the light on the side of the reader..... that didn't work out as well, that clip on light does better up at the top and center.............

Karen, may I kindly request you to not post in big colored letters? It's sort of hard to read among other "normal" posts...

Great news on the Lightwedge, the thing that will make it so great with the Reader is you don't have to move it to turn pages like with regular books, I know this was a complaint some people (including my mom) had about the regular Lightwedge.

The need to move the lightwedge for EVERY SINGLE PAGE was crazy. But it was worse when you bought the paperback sized one and wanted to read a hardcover with it. I am hoping that it is not so much a booklight as a tiny, very slim, case like device that surrounds the sony reader and evenly illuminates the screen (and costs under $50).
