I'm reading Watt by Samuel Beckett. I have been reading a few well-written, genteel books and Watt is a nice change of pace. It is very funny and profane.

I'm in a light reading phase (warm summer getaway?).

I just finished reading Home, Julie Andrews autobiography of the first section of her life (up to, but not including Mary Poppins). Sorry folks, but this one was a dud for me. OK, so she was a child prodigy with a huge vocal range & perfect pitch, but......not for me, I guess.

I'm currently reading Clapton, by Eric Clapton and I'm loving it!!! I'm a huge fan anyway, but he tells his interesting story - warts and all - as if he's speaking to you in a room. I also love the insight into his view of the music scene, his personal guitar tunings, etc.

The great book of Amber, followed by Alien Speedway, unless I get bored and I will switch to A.S. before I finish.

I LOVED the book of Amber! I have all the stories in one large pback.... I'll have to get it out again.

I'm Dipping in and out of Suggested Oddities by PJ Lyon (Moejoe on MR) and finishing up The Adamas Blueprint by Boyd Morrison (Boydm on MR).

Next up, His Robot Girlfriend by Wesley Allison (HistoryWes on MR) and the Delver Magic Trilogy by Jeff Inlo (jinlo on MR).

Audio - Deathworld by Harry Harrison.

It's a slow start, but it's much better towards the end. Stick with it!

It's a long time since I read it. I know I liked it more than Ender's Game (and I did like that book). Part of it was that I liked the idea of the Speaker for the Dead role in society. But, I think, maybe, it does pick up some. Stick with it, Cassy, I reckon.

Cheers,
Marc

The Ender series gets better and better with each book. Card is really imaginative.

Went to my local library today, and picked up 'A Man on the Moon - the voyages of the Apollo astronauts' by Andrew Chaikin in the book sale; cost me ten pence.

Excellent so far!

I'm reading Joe Haldeman's Camouflage. Very good. Recently read The Accidental Time Machine and Old Twentieth by the same author, both also very good.

I'm reading Joe Abercrombie's "Best Served Cold" -- in hardback rather than ebook, unfortunately But very enjoyable so far.

I recently read thru the entire series. I really enjoyed the Shadow series, more so than the 3 books following Enders Game... been meaning to buy Ender in Exile for the Kindle, waiting for it to hit paperback so hopefully the kindle price goes down a bit..

currently reading The Ghost Brigades, 2nd book in Scalzi's Old Mans War series. Pretty good so far, read the first half in one sitting

Sold my "extra" kindle, and just loaned my main K1 to my DIL.

I feel kinda nekkid........but it did force me to start a book I've had in paper for a long time.....

Final Blackout, by L. Ron Hubbard. I'm halfway thru now, and its really a great read. Kinda dark....
