After a few giggles, I'd like to add: join the club! It's been almost two weeks for me, and I still struggle, but I didn't really want to quit in the first place. I just know you'll make it, 'cause you seem to have set your mind on it! And it helps me to know someone else, somewhere, signed a pact with the devil...

Now come on Z, just come and sign right here....

Right now - discovering for the umpteenth time that if I lean something on certain keys on my keyboard it makes the mouse behave oddly...

oh - and tidying my desk.

Oh, no, Am. I hope all this talk of workspaces and cleaning hasn't caused you to give up your Sunday! Relax, play with your keyboard and mouse (because that sounds kind of interesting) and let the tidying wait until tomorrow, or the next day, or the next day, or the next day, etc., etc., etc.

I finally got my brand new Swivel Sweeper charged and attacked the first two floors of my house (they are hardwood/tile and they didn't clean the house before I moved in). I love that thing! It doesn't work as well as it does on TV but it sure beats a broom.

Now I need to google container gardening - I want to grow some herbs in the kitchen and maybe some stuff in the backyard.

Of course, all of this is much more fun than unpacking

It needed doing, and.... I wasn't doing it constantly! It does mean that I now have no excuse not to do what I was putting off because I didn't have the space, though. Hmmmm

I wouldn't be able to relax until everything was unpacked (This is a bit of a compulsion for me in that it even extends to holidays - I drive the yeti mad by insisting that everything has to be unpacked as soon as we arrive either at the destination or back home - in both cases it's invariably late at night. Thinking about it, I don't know why it bothers him, cos it's me that does it!!)

My mom is like that, which was a BIG help when I was moving in. Otherwise I'd be in trouble.

Most of what's left now are papers I need to sort (shred/save/toss), my bathroom stuff (Holy crap I have a lot of makeup and stuff), and a couple boxes with really random stuff in them from when I moved out of my apartment 2 years ago. Sooo that's why I'm procrastinating. I'm pretty good about putting everything away after shopping though.

Ok - I can understand procrastinating over that

Container gardening is fun - just remember to water them

Spent the day with a fork. Sadly, it was not the sort that moves food to mouth, but instead an ingenious torture device that converts an extent of unkempt garden into an ache in the back. Consequently, I am considering which painkiller is the best to use...

Go for it! Smoking was a major factor in my dad's relatively early death (early 50's). It's just not worth it. And anyway, think of all the books you could buy with the money you'd save....

Actually, I do like a fair bit of Big Country...

Though have also been enjoying a fair bit of Eddie Reader, as well.

Heat pads are good for aching muscles etc. And don't interfere with painkillers or alcohol.

It will probably be a major factor in my dad's death - he smokes far too much and has lung problems. But as he's in his 60s now, he doesn't see the point.

Finishing setting up Ubuntu and Windows 7. Spent most of the weekend "rearranging" the internals of my computer. Windows 7 bootloader never did want to play nice, so we ended up dual booting Ubuntu and 7 with Vista in vmware in Ubuntu. Fun....NOT.
