just got home from a trip into the Home Depot with my Dad. Heading to bed and then going to start replacing half the plumbing in his house in the morning. Gotta love working for free, well mostly free. I will eat like a bear preparing for hibernation to make up for the lack of wage!!

Watching the squirrels in my back yard getting attacked. We have a medium sized bird here call a Mockingbird that is agressive, and one have been attacking the squirrels in my back yard. Nice to know we have allies in the battle against ninja squirrels....

Getting ready to paint the remainder of the "cat's bathroom" ... I'm going with a sort of sage green. Only thing holding me up is that I can't figure out how the hell to get the towel rack off the damn wall. (No visible screws, and I've tugged on it, but nothing happens there .... very perplexing.)

Ricky, there are usually teeny tiny screws underneath the supports that attach to the wall. One you've loosened those, you can take the cap off.
Hope that helps and isn't something you've already tried.

Try pushing up with a light hammer tap. They are usually hooked to a screw underneath, dropping down...

Never mind. By now there are two big holes in the wall where the rod used to be.

Nothing thwarts RM's plans, NOTHING!!

Well, see, now, that was the problem. There weren't any set screws. None at all. It turns out that you are supposed to be able to remove this little cap at the front that lets you access the screw, but even a hammer and chisel wouldn't get the damn thing off.

So, I just pulled REALLY hard, and I do mean REALLY hard, and then patched the drywall. Problem solved. Patching drywall is really easy.

And, DG, except for the fact that this was one of those little hand towel ring type "rods", and so there was only one hole in the wall, you were absolutely correct.

Just won an ebay.co.uk item - Quality polished Madagascan Ammonite - Sole bidder, which is surprising.

My solution to FW was successful - I had to delete my cookies (perhaps the cart is stored and once the error had occurred it didn't refresh?). In the end I just changed my country to US - everything else remained the same - quoting the credit card address as the cause of error appears to be a 'red-herring'?.
I've bought the contents of the cart, but will return my address back to the UK, because I don't feel happy about the deception. It's not FW's fault and I do not wish them to be penalised.

Sure you want paint in there? Not tile or fiberglass siding (as is used for bathtub enclosures)?

Nah, paint is fine. It's just that it had poor quality flat paint on the walls before (that didn't take scrubbing very well). It now has very high quality semi-gloss paint on the walls that you can scrub the bejezus out of (I know, I've used it before).

I wanted to take the towel ring down because, whenever I put a hand towel on it, the cats would just hop up there and pee on it. So, now there is a roll of paper towels under the sink, and some nice hand towels in the drawer of the sink cabinet.

This particular bathroom was originally meant to be a guest bath, so it's right by the front door. I hate that because if one of the cats takes a dump in one of the litter boxes in there (I have four in what used to be the shower), it's the first thing you smell when you walk in the front door.

SO, the next job is going to be to install a cat flap in the bathroom door (using upholstery foam as a gasket) so I can leave that door closed. That will be one of my weekend projects.

They still don't have the base paint in for the great room, so I can't finish up that particular painting job until it arrives. I'll just finish up the baseboards in there since I still have plenty of the good quality Deep Cream semi gloss to play with.
