Well if it was on sale, you have to buy it of course. Poor men, they never understand this stuff. All they need is a TV and a bed.

My problems started when I got this place in Texas. You see, I kept my place in California for something like another 3 years (maybe a bit less), so I had to furnish this place, and the best way I could figure out how to do it was by mail order.

THEN .... I had to move the piano out here from storage (it wouldn't fit in the California condo), and THEN one of my aunts died and I got a TON of old furniture and family photos and books. Then, I sold the condo, and moved the stuff from there here ... where it is sitting in my storage room. Mostly from Ethan Allen (my condo had a little more modern feel), and my old brass bed (which I cannot give up because I'm basically a pack rat, as are so many of my family). I've got bullets left over from my great grandfather's gear from the Civil War .... my family throws almost nothing away. My mother kept all of my old coloring books. It's like that.

However, I am making a concerted effort to keep purchases to paint and cleaning supplies now ... and cat food of course ... and a wee bit of people food. Most of the furniture that is waiting to be restored (at present) came from dumpster diving (or as I like to call it, "urban archeology") over at the recycling center. People toss away some great stuff!!

Sounds a bit suspicious to me. Let's see. Stand up and turn around. Bet you still got your hoo-haa.

I'm buying into the optical illusion explanation, and I insist that someone tell me how it's done because I need to master that trick.

Well, that's no optical illusion trick. That's the way I've been doing it all along. I was kind of looking for the smoke and mirrors version. Oh well, back to the old drawing board; or more like nose to the grindstone, I'm afraid. Ho-hum.

Well... I got all the parts for my new PC today... except one small part...

Erm... the CASE!

DOH!

Actually, that's ok, I am really tired on on my way to bed now. If I had the case, I would probably stay up and put it together.

Since others were posting pictures of their desks, I decided I would post one of my workspace. I thought you all might be particularly interested in the swing arm laptop holder. Because I use my desk for crafting and sometimes like to make notes about what I've made, I need both the maximum amount of workspace and my laptop close at hand. This works perfectly for me!

if you like, i can lend you a photo of my desk to get yourself back in their good graces.

i'm deeply disappointed. i too was hoping for a "smoke and mirrors" version. i think dg is just trying to throw us off the scent, because she doesn't want to share her secret. you know how magicians are. dg, that's not very generous of you.

See??? THIS is why my room is CLEAN, and your desks are atrocious. I actually got in there and put stuff away.

And it would have been done way sooner, except I had to keep stopping and seeing what you guys were up to......
