Trying to figure out why my computer suddenly has no sound. The device drivers are fine, the speakers say they're working, everything is plugged in to the correct place. But no sound. Read a dozen forums, one helpful hint, but it's not working for this problem either. *sigh*.

It does, doesn't it?

The blue and yellow egg is the one I'm looking forward to seeing hatch. I think that will be a sunrise or sunset dragon, and I'm curious to know if it could be either, depending on the time of day the egg was laid, or when it hatches, or what.

Oh, and I'm up having a cup of cocoa (organic fair-trade spicy xocolatl cocoa, to be precise). And I have a purring kitty on my lap. So hopefully I'll feel sleepy enough to go back to bed soon.

That happens to my laptop sometimes after an automatic Windows update. I get my sound back by logging off and shutting down. When it reboots the sound returns.

I hate it when stuff like that happens. A couple months ago my son was playing a computer game and hit a strange key combination and the whole screen rotated. If I had been thinking clearly I would have remembered to change it in the laptop monitor settings, but no, I spent 20 minutes with my head twisted to the side trying to solve the problem. Had a sore neck for hours!

You so aren't an "idiot" You were stressed already the stupid delivery men, having to have them come back out and worrying about not having the hutch attached. You had to find someone to take your husband to work.

Its so easy to check the wrong box even when you haven't got 17 other things on your mind.

With the computer, yes everything is fixed . With the hutch, not so much. Chris is still mad, the mechanism the furniture comes with to attach the hutch is one tiny little metal bracket, that he says he can bend bare handed. This thing is heavy enough that I feel pretty certain it's not going to fall unless we have an earthquake or something but I certainly do see his point, because if it DID fall, it's heavy enough to do some serious damage to anything it lands on. Especially ME. So he's trying to figure out a better way to secure it without ruining anything.
