I just heard from Scotty in engineering, I believe he said:

It's these delays, captain. The thread can't take much more. She's starting to break up.

Captain, shields are weaking. Users are trying to scan us and it's taking too much energy blocking those. We can't keep up the shields much longer.
There's only one possible solution: We can use the energy from our programming warp drive to power the shields. But then we couldn't make progress...

Captain: Make it so...

That was the computer. It's taken over the ship and has locked us out of Ten-Forward. It's a disaster !!

: Abelturd: have switched to Analog mode ala BSG to avoid interference from a Cylon Breech (Aka gerraldo). Have engaged and destroyed all Swindles in Vectors 2 and 3. However, Have spotted news signals of Sony 700s and 500s veering very close to the Asteroid field in Sector 7. Currently our Alliance with the Sonyians is tenous at best. Will send two Squadrons of 796s and and three prototypes Opuses to intercept. The 796s are have the Extra Noreve shields so they should have no problem should the 700s open up with Gatlin guns.

Tell emellaich that there seems to be a Cylon breech in the engineering room. Have not heard any word from Scotty (Aka Snuff). We were hoping to connect with him to relay info back to you captain about the condition fo the mother ship. Battlestar Bookeen Seems to be holding but My view is too distant to get a good look at the damage. My two squadrons will head for Sector 20. Have reports of AN ILLIAD SHIP (shIP TYPE UNKNOWN) AT THIS POINT. Will not be able to connect via Laser analog for more than 2 hours. Will report after we have returned from sector 20.

Again. Captain. Please try to raise the folder support before we return. BSB(BattlestarBookeen) sorely needs it.

So Eink we all

Hidari. Over.

I am serious. Could you please name one country and the law you may be breaching if you remove DRM?

Sure. It's illegal in the UK, as are all other forms of "format conversion" (eg, it's illegal to rip your own, legally-bought, CD to an iPod in the UK, too).

You're vanishingly unlikely to actually be prosecuted for it, but it is, technically at least, illegal. It's a breach of the 1998 "Copyright, Designs, and Patents Act", to be specific.

Captain, captain! The Bookeen's Integalactic Communation Channel (BICC) is broken, I can't connect to it! Will there be new updates?

Captain, after verifications, it seems the signal was only disturbed by some Galactical Disturbance, the BICC is back online.

Over

Thanks, Harry.

I will study that law in the next few days.

I am quite interested in this subject - not only as a e-reader but also (maybe even mainly) as a jurist.

I will get back to this subject soon! (if I manage to get the time to read everything I want to)

It's also illegal in Germany, as long it is the removal of an "effective" digital means to secure the content (which does leave a lot of space for interpretation, considering "effective" ...).

Ripping a CD with DRM on a Windows PC is considered illegal, ripping the same CD on a Linux PC wouldn't be, since a lot of DRM technologies are only effectice on Windows.

French clearly makes providing tools or software able to remove drm illegal.
Then, there is the fact that interoperability is said a lawfull reason to bypass drm. (like reading dvd's on linux).

It's just a mess. Just remone drm altogether, everyone will benefit from it !

There's a nice article here (about music files): CLICK

BTW: With software (mostly games) it's illegal in most countries, as you need to decompile the program files (reverse engineering), which is clearly forbidden! (In the US = DMCA)
