True Covers for Kindle ensures books downloaded from the calibre Content Server to a Kindle display their proper cover art.

Main Features:

• Fix Kindle Cover: Finds the Kindle edition's ASIN (Amazon's ID for the Kindle edition), verifies that a live cover exists on Amazon's cover server, embeds the cover into the book's AZW3 file (EXTH 201), and stamps the binary MOBI/KF8 headers (EXTH 113 and EXTH 504 with the ASIN, and EXTH 501=EBOK).
• Auto-Import: Watches a configured folder in the background, imports copies of newly settled ebook files into the calibre library non-destructively (leaving original source files untouched), and hands imported books off to Fix Kindle Cover.
• Mark as Personal Document: Fallback for books, comics, magazines, or documents without a Kindle edition on Amazon. Converts to AZW3 if needed, embeds the calibre cover (EXTH 201), and stamps EXTH 501=PDOC so the Kindle displays the embedded cover under Personal Documents.

Installation:

1. Download the attached True_Covers_for_Kindle.zip (or install via Preferences -> Plugins -> Get new plugins once indexed).
2. In calibre, go to Preferences -> Plugins -> Load plugin from file and select the zip file.
3. Restart calibre.
