Insert approx. 1,500 characters to .opf

Hello from Germany!

Im new to calibre and an absolut beginner with the buildin editor.

My goal is, to get the first approx. 1,500 characters or the first chapter of a ebook as reading sample into the .opf file.

What it should do:
- tagging one author to select
- let the editor do the insert
- save changes to the .opf

Is that possible with the calibre editor?

Hello Peter,

I use the field "Comments" for this goal. Here I put a short description + content of the book.
You may also add an extra column (format: long texts, like comments) where you put the first chapter in.
When saving the book to disk you may configure "Saving books to disk" and activate "Save metadata in a separate OPF file".

Could also be done via an editor plugin, there isn't anything like it in the plugin index so you'd have to develop it.
