1. I have a question about the "Keep in Step" feature in Calibre sync. How do I know if the bookmarks that were set by JustRead got saved to the book's metadata in Calibre? Sometimes when a book updates with a new chapter, I lose my reading progress. I also can't "force" JustRead to place the reader in the position according to the book metadata's Progress column. JustRead will "accurately" show a progress line on the book's cover in the library view, but upon opening the book, the position doesn't reflect the progress percentage. In my test epub, I set progress at 90%, JustRead shows the progress at 90% after importing, but it doesn't open the book at an approximate 90% position. JustRead has prior reading position data on this epub at 14% so that's where it opened the book. For books with no reading data whatsoever in JustRead, but I manually set progress data to in Calibre, JustRead will open them at 0%. tl;dr: Progress data doesn't really seem to matter for keeping reading position, JustRead relies on something else. 2. As for the themes, it looks like I still need to press the X button on the right for the theme to save properly. If I go back after editing the theme, the edits don't get saved. 3. In non-scroll/Paged mode, I can sometimes swipe up which leads to a blank page. (Link to screen recording, Calibe Mapping is off in my screenshot because "Send After Closing A Book" is off, my custom columns are already set) |

Hello Culytera
1a. Bookmarks and highlights are sent to Calibre's annotation store, not the book's metadata. Check in Calibre's web reader, or use Browse annotations in Calibre itself. 1b. Reading position synces to your Progress column as a percentage when you close a book (with Send on Book Close on in Calibre Mapping). JustRead uses that column only for the progress bar on the cover. The book opens at the place JustRead remembers, or at the beginning if there isn't one. After an update, if the chapter files are renamed, JustRead can't find that place and starts over. The next update will open at the percentage instead, can it be? 2. This looks like iOS 18 problem, will test it on this iOS version 3. This is strange, there is no swipe up action in the reader. Also I use Justread daily, extensively (as expected), and never experienced this. But I have latest iOS, so I will also text with iOS 18. |
