Yei Theodora Ozaki

The Mirror Maiden

Lafcadio Hearn
During a severe drought, Matsumura’s well remains mysteriously full. After the gods banish the dragon, Matsumura discovers an ancient mirror at the bottom of the well, and Yayoi is its spirit.

The Glass

Laura E. Richards
An allegory.
A magical glass reveals the different parts of his personality as separate beings: His tastes appear as elegant and refined figures; his virtues as tiny but attractive and charming figures. Finally, a crowd of large, rough, threatening vices appears— a person’s virtues may be small and easily overlooked, while their vices can be much stronger and more dominant than they realize.

The Mirrors of Tuzun Thune

Robert E. Howard
A shard of a Howard sword & sorcery universe.
King Kull of Valusia, plagued by existential despair, seeks answers from Tuzun Thune, a mysterious wizard who shows him an enchanted mirror. Kull becomes obsessed with the world within the glass, neglecting his kingdom. But the mirror may hold more than philosophical truth—it might be part of a deadly conspiracy that threatens reality itself.
