Edit access to my own post

Hope all is well, and thank you for taking the time to be leaders in such an awesome community. I created a post, and was wondering what conditions I will get edit access to my first post? https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...=375750&page=1

Are you sure you can't edit that post, the threshold is/was 10 posts, and you have 18.

Why hasn't an admin responded to this - 61 hours?

Just noticed: they haven't been responding to requests to enable PM's either.

There's no emergency with enabling PMs. Paul did a bunch just a couple of days ago.

Not to mention that the few of us left probably aren't going to respond well to timing how long it takes us to get to these things.

I honestly don't know what the threshold is for being granted the ability to edit one's own posts. Nor do I know if post-count is the only criteria. Perhaps length of membership is in play. I do know that there are constraints on how many posts one can edit during a certain timeframe. This was implemented when a disgruntled user tried to remove the contents of all their posts on the forum. Destroying the continuity of many a conversation in so doing.

There also may be limits on how long a user can to go back and edit a post. I could be wrong, though. Others may know better.

Definitely not an emergency, there is a lot probably going on, and there probably is a good security reason for this. Maybe they are not making the requirements public?

The requirements for new users to be fully trusted with editing, posting links without moderation, PMs and other things are definitely not public knowledge.

But I would think you would be close to being able to edit your posts by now. Are you sure you're not overlooking the button? Different themes might have the button in different locations. It's just to the left of the 'Quote' button (bottom right corner of every post) in the default forum theme.

When I create a new post, edit will appear for a few minutes left of the quote, but it is only temporary for the new post

Are you running any kind of custom css to enable a dark theme for Mobileread or anything like that?
