CLEARING Plugin Data
I'm trying to remove a plugin completely - so I can re-install it from scratch.
I go into the plugin settings - delete all data - do a reset. - disable the plugin exit from koreader then - I go to /koreader/plugins - and delete the plugin folder Restart Koreader - re-add the plugin folder to /koreader/plugins - re-enable the plugin - restart koreader Now when I go back into the plugin settings - many of the settings/data that I was trying to get rid of - is still there.. ????? Any ideas how I can completely wipe a plugin and all its data/settings? |

I have had plugins save data in the koreader/settings folder. Some in the koreader/cache folder. One plugin I tried saved data in the same folder as the e-book it was used on (a picture viewing plugin). It didn't work very well and I had to go hunting for the remnants it left behind. I now avoid user plugins and am currently using only one.

Wow - good to know - I DID find files in my koreader/settings AND koreader/cache... .by removing that data I was finally able to start out clean with my plugin...
...seems to be a 'gap' in usability... there should be a clean method to completely remove a plugin and all its data? Regardless - Thanks so much for the tip! |

Yeah I mean plugins are unsupervised in this regard.
Some plugins also save settings in the settings.reader.lua file |

Plugins can implement a hook on the long-press "delete settings" options within the plugin manager (deletePluginSettings). It's relatively new, though. So they can implement this functionality, if they choose to.
If your plugin already shows the "delete settings" options, it does indeed implement some logic. It might be worth creating an issue for the plugin(s) you use. |
