The jacket is rendered by calibre code, not code in this plugin (I just call the render_jacket calibre function to get the contents of the jacket file). You would need to verify you see the same behaviour when using calibre jacket function directly then ask the question in the main calibre forums.

Hello,
I've been using this plugin for a long time and had it fail today, for the first time, on a new book. From the errors at the end of the log, I decided that it failed processing the "Modify @page and body margin styles" option, so I unchecked that and was able to get past it and successfully modify the epub.

I do not have this PI installed and have not see this fail.

A file name case issue? Linux is case sensitive, This may have flown on Windows.
Look at line 16 of the named file

Thank you for looking at this. Calibre in my linux distro (gentoo) is currently pretty old (8.something I think) so I am currently using a bash script (I think I got from here years ago) to update it from Calibre's download site.

This book has 2 css files (copied below). I thought maybe the small, second one was the problem since the lines are all indented more than normally, but running the "beautify" function in the Calibre editor on it, which gets rid of that, doesn't make any difference.

What book is this? Can you try scambling it and see if you get the same error? If you do, you can post the scrambled version so we can try it.
