Just for the record, with my “whining” I also intended (in some way) to prevent a new thread about this from being created, and to let off some steam here in this thread, as the first post also suggest, instead of polluting other threads with the same topic(s) over and over again. Should I say sorry about brining up K4 vs BW here to make you feel better, because I did a wrong thing, and/or should I/we just keep my/our opinion about this topic out of mobileread forever from now on? |

I'd bought that Moodi, can confirm it doesn't works on my Kobo nor Pocketbook (I haven't bought it for those, but tried anyway); apart that the feel is "rubber like" but actually is a good plastic, I love it.
Having it set for the tablet, on KoReader I use it on scroll mode for the comics (having set KoReader within continuos pages, no inertia, and actuation on release, so it seems it advances half the lenght it would have had normally instead - I generally use the tablet on portrait). The device claims to work within Android devices (as for the turn page mode), I haven't tried its app. |

In my experience, Kobo's buttons are surprisingly good and much better/more consistent than Pocketbook's at least (though less than Kindle's older button devices).
I've had my KLC for almost 2 years and they feel looser, but that's expected. On the whole, I actually do not like having buttons in principle as much as I thought I would and I prefer touchscreen taps or swipes. The latter is more immersive to me because it mimics real page turns better, and I also do not like the additional mechanical wear it brings. |

I've never had buttons wear out on any of my ereaders and I've had many devices with buttons. My current Kobos are 5 years old, used daily. No wear whatsoever, buttons are still as good as new.

It's just the nature of a moving mechanical component on a device. If the battery doesn't degrade first, it would be that.At least for most modern e-readers (or phones, tablets, etc) a magnetic sleep case can negate using the power button to that extent. So the page turn buttons tend to be especially problematic in that regard with how much you press on them in a given session. |

The Bluethoot sees the device and connects, what's not on defaults are the settings: it needs to go under Settings - Personalize - Key Mapping - (Epub..., and/or PDF) - Bluetooth buttons. In there, while selecting "Add Button" it will ask to press the desired ones; as the Moodi has three configurations that switch while holding the two buttons toghether for some seconds, it depends on which mode the device is: on media it will show as "Volume Up", "Volume Down", onto the other two modes it will show as number "165", "163"; but those are just the names the device is being seen: it's possible to change them, then, and more important to configure them. I'd just set to page next and previous page; and it works fine. So there are three possible configurations, and two behaviours as Pocketbook sets it differently for PDFs and EPubs. |
