Version 5.5 (Kindle-like pins, fixes)
■ New features
- Pins: in an EPUB book, select a passage and tap Pin, or touch and hold an image, such as a map, to pin it. Tap the pin button at the bottom of the page to look at your last pin without losing your place, or touch and hold it to see all your pins. On iPad, a pin can also float over the page or dock beside it. - Back to Page: after any jump in an EPUB book, from Contents, search, a bookmark, a highlight or a link, tap Back to Page at the bottom to return to where you were. - Audiobookshelf: connect your Audiobookshelf server as a new source, browse its libraries, and download audiobooks and ebooks into your library. Your listening and reading position and finished books sync both ways, and you can sign in with single sign-on. - An audiobook keeps playing after you close its player. A mini player above the tabs brings it back. - Touch and hold a skip button to choose how far it skips, from 5 to 60 seconds, separately for back and forward. Car Mode, the Lock Screen and CarPlay use the same lengths. - While Read Aloud or a book's narration is on, double-tap a word to read on from its sentence, even while paused. - iPhone Duo: when it is open, books show two pages side by side. The iPad Layout setting is now called Pages Side by Side. ■ Improvements - Headings can now have their own size and weight, as well as their own font. - The top and bottom reading bars each have a Text Size slider, from 100 to 200 percent, on the Reading Bars page. - Reading Speed now shows words a minute, or characters a minute in Japanese and Chinese, with pages a minute beside it. - Find Better Details also searches Apple Books, Hardcover when connected, and Audible for audiobooks. It can fill in a book's series, and its Sources page lets you choose where it looks. ■ Fixes - Fixed a crash with natural voices on iPhone 17 and iPads with the M5 chip. ■ Localization - JustRead now speaks Russian, and all new text is natively translated across all 21 supported languages. |

Numbers figure style
They're displayed as expected now, thanks for fixing this! NOT condition for Reading Status no longer possible? I used to be able to toggle Finished as "Not Finished" which was how I got to make a Not Finished filter, but since version 5.4 and now 5.5, I can't do that anymore. Did I somehow forget how to do them? It's just tapping on the filter to toggle the condition, right? Same case for other rule types. AND/OR for toggled tags in filters Right now, you can select either "All Rules" or "Any Rules", but this is per rule type. For selected tags, it's always an OR. (tag1 OR tag2 OR tag3) I'd love to have a separate AND/OR toggle for tags so it could be (tag1 AND tag2 AND tag3). OpenDyslexic font When using the OpenDyslexic font, the Original font gets displayed instead. It's not even displaying in OpenDyslexic in the font list while other fonts do, it looks like the original font? But OpenDyslexic displays just fine on your end, so could this be another older iOS issue? My device is on iOS 18. The New York font has a similar issue, but it displays as Times New Roman instead of the Original font. I downloaded OpenDyslexic and added it as a custom font and that was the only way the font displayed properly. I don't really use these fonts so it's not a big deal, but it's weird that it's not working by default on my end. Here's a screen recording to show the issue with filters and the OpenDyslexic and New York fonts. |

Filters: good idea, will add.
OpenDyslexic: confused here... I see in your video that you have this font displayed properly as imported and also when used, it shows in the book properly... in around 0:37. I do not understand the problem here. |

Because it's supposed to be a part of JustRead's default selection of fonts. In the first part of that segment, I showed that OpenDyslexic, as provided by JustRead, wasn’t displaying properly. When I downloaded the font and imported it as a custom font, that was when it displayed properly.

Can you please contact me via email, I am totally lost and do not understand a thing.
OpenDyslexic, as provided by Justread wasnt displaying properly and then when you downloaded the font and imported it was displayed properly? I do not see anything unproper, or maybe I do not know what to look for. Also until font is added to Justread, you want Justread to use it? When it is not there? |

Open Dyslexic is not provided by JustRead, you have to download it and add to Custom fonts to use it (the same as, for example, Bookerly)

So for some reason, my installation of JustRead has traces of OpenDyslexic and New York (1st and 2nd screenshot) even though I've never installed those fonts in my device. I checked my installed fonts in my settings page (3rd and 4th screenshot) and OpenDyslexic and New York aren't there either. Somehow JustRead has those fonts in its font list even though they're not provided by default. I'll just reinstall the app.

Aha, now I got it.
So the problem is simply 'JustRead offers OpenDyslexic, but now shows it properly'. Which you are right, because Justread uses Readium kit, that comes with four fonts and yes, you found a bug, because those are not properly initialized. Fixed now and will be in 5.6. Thank you very much for going deep into this. |
