For example, use only the author's last name and a distinctive word from the title. To see the entire log, click 'Show details'" This is my translation from french message. The parameter i have on this book are : Title and author i don't no how to fix this... I have tryed to modify all parameter of metadata search but unsuccessfull. Thanks for all help you can provide to find an solution, i hope this is an stupid manipualtion / option i have setup it the cause of all this trouble. Regards Gianluca Gatti |

Moderator Notice Moved The "Editor" subforum is for issues regarding the ebook editor, i.e. the book's text. Metadata edit issues are a "Library Management" issue. We need to see an example of the search expression - i.e. what is in the search bar - example: BR |

Is it the Calibre library the OP is searching, or trying to download online metadata?

I think your right - I never download metadata, too slow, too flaky, and mostly zero value. BR |

Hello all and thank for the reply.
I'm try to download from the web with this search option in my bar : series:"=Asterix" but i don't no if understand rigth what you mean (english is not my first language). You won’t believe this, but when I tried to create an example, the loading worked fine—even though I haven’t changed anything since yesterday... Anyway, what do you suggest for have the same result ? Thanks for your reponse Regards Gianluca G |

I'm getting the same issue, all metadata downloads are failing for me from within the Calibre library. Running the same google query in a browser works ok
eg from log calibre, version 9.16.0 ERROR: No matches found:
Failed to find any books that match your search. Try making the search less specific. For example, use only the author's last name and a single distinctive word from the title.
To see the full log, click "Show details". Running identify query with parameters: {'title': 'The Family Cross', 'authors': ['James Patterson'], 'identifiers': {}, 'timeout': 30} Using plugins: Amazon.com Multiple Countries (1, 0, 0), Google (1, 1, 4), Amazon.com (1, 3, 19) The log from individual plugins is below ****************************** Amazon.com Multiple Countries (1, 0, 0) ****************************** Found 0 results Downloading from Amazon.com Multiple Countries took 5.2723448276519775 User-agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) PowerShell/5.1 Server: auto Making google query: https://www.google.com/search?q=Fami...www.amazon.com Failed to find any results on results page, with title: Family Cross James Patterson site:www.amazon.com - Google Search No search engine results for terms: Family Cross James Patterson |

Quote:
If you do not already have it added to Calibre: Search the Internet Plugin. That allows the search to be launched from Calibre using the current books entry for data. This PI is customizable, so check that part out for best fit. |
