I clicked on a rather nice-looking desk chair in an Amazon deal email. It was $99. In the next deals email it was $89. I went back to check it out again a day or two later and it was $109. It seems like going to an item from an email gets you a lower price than just searching for it on the Amazon site.

During a previous Prime Day (or Black Friday or some such) I watched a price on an item. ON the Prime Day it was higher. The next day it was back to the lower price! I cancelled the order I made on the Prime Day and re-ordered after midnight, since I'm a late night person.
So yeah, prices can be weird. And dodgy. |

Had surgery last week. Trying to get a vein for the IV sedation was fun, especially since I wasn't allowed to drink for a few hours before. After several failed attempts they got it in but then it popped out again in the operating room, "er, am I supposed to be asleep now?" and they put another in my foot and that worked.
At least I was off the bloodthinners so didn't bruise as badly as usual. |

Amazon has done it again. A couple of months ago I ordered a 1TB microSD card. They sent me a 256GB microSD card. I returned it, and I got a confirmation that a refund was issued to my credit card.
My starting remarks to the Amazon chat bot: I just received an email that my refund could not be processed because I didn't return the item ordered. That is correct, but the item I returned was the one I actually received. I ordered a 1 TB card and got a 256 GB card. Didn't anyone read the refund request form that I submitted? How could I possibly have returned what I ordered when what I ordered was not what was delivered? I had to 'request' a phone call from a human representative. I ranted a bit on the phone call but was assured I would not be charged for the purchased/returned item. We shall see. |

I would have wanted Amazon to replace the incorrect item with the correct item.
I ordered a 500GB microSD card and it was supposed to come in the mail. IT didn't turn up in time. So Amazon sent out another and when the original order finally showed up, I contacted Amazon and I was told just to keep it. |

It's that time of year when the lovely sounds of leaf blowers and chainsaws float gently on the breeze from sun up to sun down. So magical.

Gotta wait until the leaves fall down before you can blow them (around here anyway).

Having some problems with my team lead in training this week. First she tried to blame me for not doing something last Friday. Since last week I work on Thursday instead of Friday and I reminded her last Thursday not to forget doing it herself/let someone else do it. So now we've run out of sales leaflets and those offer run until next Tuesday.
Then we had a security meeting on Tuesday, about what to do during an emergency. There were two sessions, the first one she attended and I went to the second one. However, the second one was during the hour we normally have our morning break. So she tried to get me to have me eat and drink during that meeting and count it as my morning break. Yeah, no, that meeting is work. I played dumb and told her I didn't mind having my morning break late. Mind you, did she take her "break" during her meeting? Of course not. We'll see how things develop, but I know the higher ups are unsure if they want to make her an actual team lead. Partially due to this type of behaviour. Meanwhile, I'm counting days until my vacation. I need a break, mostly from her (and she's only back from her own vacation since last week). |
