Example: I want to know what "achetons" or "acheté" means. Kobo's or koreader's dictionaries would immediately display the word "acheter". Pocketbook's dictionary would say that it's "a form of 'acheter'" but this message is not clickable, so if I wanted to know what "acheter" means I would have to click the "edit" button and edit my search query. This is extremely annoying.

On top of that you have to click two different buttons to add a word to the vocabulary builder - once to add the word and once to confirm that the word was added. This also gets very annoying very quickly.

And if you want to export the vocabulary builder you get a HTML file that only contains the words and their translations but does not contain the original sentence in which you've encountered this word. You can browse this information on your device but you can't export it.

Long story short - Pocketbooks are not good for language learning
Have you tried the dictionaries from https://www.reader-dict.com/? They work really well for conjugated forms for me both in Nickel (default Kobo reading app) and koreader. Is it slow also in koreader on Pocketbook? Or do you just use the native reader app?

The dictionaries that I'm using work really well in Koreader and in Nickel but not with Pocketbook's built-in software.

I have a KL2 and a Verse Pro and I wouldn't say that Koreader dictionary lookups feel faster or slower on either of these devices. I've never measured it with a stopwatch so it's a subjective feeling.

I would like to be able to buy the Oxford Dictionary (like you used to be able to do for Pocketbooks) but the Webster's Dictionary I found works pretty well for me on Touch HD 3.

There was also an Oxford Dictionary available, but that one was really, unusably slow. It must have been compiled differently.

So even on a 7", a PDF within large borders' margin can be readable, without having to use it on landscape and scroll on half pages.

I use the zoom feature on a Kobo since newer Kobo firmware maintains the zoom between pages. Sounds like it does much the same. Most of the time, I just use k2pdfopt to generate a trimmed PDF.

I didn't realize that, but don't think I've ever read a PDF on my PocketBook.

If the PDF was generated with different margins for left and right pages, then a fixed zoom wouldn't work as well as margin trimming.
