Hey, can you get around the 525 error for Ao3 if you make/use a secondary account? And if you need to login to download a certain work, does the login name show up in the file in Calibre at all? I downloaded the latest FanFicFare version and it didn't seem to fix it.

AO3 525 has been discussed at length here and elsewhere. I doubt very much that using a different account would make any difference.
FFF doesn't record login names anywhere, but it can appear in debug logs and background job output. |

I meant the tags listed under the summary. And it was the same day, like four hours later. Adding searchtags to extra_valid_entries worked. I didn't know that is what they are called on quotev. Problem solved. Thank you! |

For what it matters, no AO3 525s since 4.62.0.
Haven't changed any settings so Im guessing either something changed on serverside or retry_http_525_failures:true is actually doing something. |

Just a comment about closed issue #1432 wrt literotica. I had a story that I had previously downloaded 5 chapters I was trying to update with the latest chapter (6) but only the first page of the newest chapter was downloading.
So I told it to overwrite instead of update. When I did that, all the chapters reverted to only the first page. I then updated from 4.59 to 4.62 but again, still only the first page downloaded when updating or overwriting. So, then like the commenter in #1432, I deleted the entry book record from Calibre and downloaded as if new. And that worked. I don't have any other stories that are ongoing right now, so no others I can test. But I just wanted to share that I had the same experience as that user. I would have thought that just updated to 4.62 would have resolved the issue. Why it didn't and I had to delete the book completely, I don't know. |

It's unfortunate, but I just don't see a way to handle this better.
There really isn't any way for FFF to detect "this chapter only has one page should have more" in an existing epub for literotica, or any site. The same thing would happen if the author added more pages to an existing chapter. I agree that doing 'Overwrite Always' with the new version should have worked. In fact, I just installed FFF 5.49, downloaded a literotica story and confirmed only one page per chapter. Then after installing 4.62.0, I did an 'Overwrite Always' and confirmed each chapter then had all pages as expected. |

fair enough that maybe there isn't a good way to handle/detect. I just wanted to add a point of data to that closed issue report. (on github, can you comment on a closed issue?) maybe in future something will be figured out? but at least it is something to keep in the back of the mind if anyone else reports literotica issues, that more than one person had to delete because overwrite didn't work.

in hindsight, I wish I had restarted in debug mode when overwrite wasn't working but...I just didn't think of it. oops.

Hi, is there a way for me to extract multiple url in added books and have it automatically assigned to the identifier tab *without* my having to go turn update mode: update calibre metadata option for each one?
I recently downloaded some archived fics from archive.org and would like to be able to extract url and auto add to identifier instead of using fanficfare to download them or doing it manually. I have the "Search Inside Ebooks for Story URL" turned on but it doesn't detect it (the formats are all txt files) Last edited by madame_newbie; Yesterday at 08:08 AM. |

But I believe that's the sort of thing [GUI Plugin] Extract EPUB Metadata is for. |
