0.5.61, the main changes:

1) Books in the backup. "Export" on the reading list can include the books imported from .epub files: tick "Export with books (N books · X MB)" under the pictures box, and the file then contains each book's text and pictures together with its reading position. "Import" adds the books that are not in the list, with their highlights and positions. Without the box the books are left out.

2) Select mode with books. Books can be ticked like articles, and "Export selected" writes reread-selection.zip: the ticked articles and books with highlights, positions and the books' pictures - without the saved phrases and the settings. A file to hand to somebody, or to move a few books to another device.

3) A few UI tweaks

re/read 0.5.85. The thread is long, so here is what the extension does today, in one list.

re/read is a browser extension for reading web articles and EPUB books: whatever you open in it is kept on your device and is there without an internet connection. Translation is optional.

Offline reading list
- any web page turned into clean text and kept for good (Alt+Shift+R, the toolbar icon, the right-click menu)
- an article's pictures downloaded with one press, stored with the article
- import of EPUB books (table of contents, footnotes, pictures) and of Markdown texts
- a note on a saved article or book; search across the reading list, by title and note
- an article or a book exported as an EPUB or Markdown file
- a backup of everything in one file, or of only the documents you tick; import without duplicates
- a safety copy of the reading list, the highlights and the saved phrases in the extension's own storage

Reader
- Pages or Scroll layout; pages turned with a tap, a slide of the finger, the keys or the mouse wheel
- the reading position remembered for every document
- a highlighter in four colours with notes; a page with every highlight; highlights exported as Markdown quotes
- reading aloud with the device's offline voices, the spoken word marked, speed control and pause
- search inside the open text
- light, sepia, dark and E-ink themes; typefaces (also one of your own), text size, column width, line spacing, alignment, hyphenation; links hidden or active; full screen
- the number of words and the reading time of every text

Translation and dictionaries
- a selected word or phrase translated in a bubble, by the Bergamot engine on your device; about 100 language pairs, downloaded once
- more than 400 WikDict dictionaries, and your own StarDict files; dictionary entries in the bubble; a lookup field under the toolbar icon
- the pronunciation of a selection, read aloud

Saved phrases
- a phrase saved from the bubble, underlined on every page and in every book; the Learned button, a Learned list with Back to learning
- "Underline other forms of saved words" (English for now, with a dictionary installed); "Save the sentence with the phrase"
- a saved phrases page with editing, filtering and search; TSV import and export (Anki)

Without translation
- "Use without a translation model": the reading list, the reader, the highlighter, reading aloud, dictionaries and saved phrases, no model
- "Do not show the bubble when selecting text"

Settings and privacy
- a settings page in sections, with a search field; the space used by models, dictionaries, the reading list and the backups; the extension switched off on the sites you choose; custom CSS
- no account, no cloud, no telemetry, no ads; the network only at your request (models, dictionaries, pictures); open source (AGPL-3.0), unminified
- interface in six languages; Firefox 142 or newer (also Android), Chrome and Chromium 128 or newer (Brave, Edge)
