To simplify keeping my test builds links up to date, you can find the latest test build for Windows in the Downloading Sigil test builds for Windows thread.

Hello,

I wonder if maybe there could be an option to not show new document on startup. On macOS (unsure of other platforms), after a restart Sigil will re-launch with a new window after restoring previously opened apps. Some apps have an option to not show new document on startup. I think it might be nice.

Sorry not interested.

Just uncheck the box to auto open apps after a restart. FWIW, it is an incredibly insane thing for MacOS to auto reopen apps that may have forced you to restart in the first place.

Sigil has no idea if after a restart or not.

That's fine. At least you didn't get mad and frustrated for me even saying something.

I prefer features to make such native-like such on various platforms but that's up to you.

I also think some features such as convert to EPUB3 might be more elegant, not needing as much clicks or menu selects, vs. plugins but I understand maybe you prefer such in a certain way.

There are markets in Europe where epub2 is still the preferred format. Why would those users want to convert to epub3? As a plugin is fine. A single click in the icon is enough to launch it.

I have used so many different OS's over the last 50 years, I do not care one bit about emulating any OS specific features. Sigil is purely cross-platform to me.

Not sure how much simpler it could get. I added the ePub3-itizer to one of the plugin shortcut buttons. I click on it and an ePub3 version of the ePub2 I have opened is generated unless there is a fatal error. The filename is autogenerated from the ePub2 filename.

I dragged an old Baen ePub from the .zip file it was downloaded in. Opened Hell_Hath_No_Fury.epub with Sigil 2.8.5 and error checked, clicked on the ePub3-itizer icon and a few seconds later, a popup asked if I wanted to save Hell_Hath_No_Fury_epub3.epub.

No extra clicks needed though I did check the original ePub and correct a couple of errors (invalid IDs).
