be curious how deep the cuts on the old stuff go. gotta clear it out. today you can buy a basic 2024 for the same price as the new one.

And I look at my devices, all with months (OK, Years) of reading content and I only us 5G of the 32 of storage (Calibre is where I KEEP all books and stats. ). (Note: I don't have graphic rich content or audio books. I use an old phone, with a cracked screen , for audiobooks.

We're definitely in the minority. In fact, this forum is also in the minority because it doesn't represent the average ebook reader. We can voice our concerns and preferences, but in the long run, we'll be ignored by the manufacturers.

No way. What Amazon will do is slash the prices of the previous models back down to the list price (or a tad bit lower) they were selling for before the price hikes of late August. The average consumer will think they're getting a real bargain because they knew nothing about the price hikes.

Deceptive marketing wins the day.

Here's a current example:

Kindle Kids 2024

• $130 -- Jan ~ late Aug (Amazon's regular price)
  
• $85 -- late Jun (Prime Day) = $45 savings
  
• $180 -- late Aug (Amazon raised prices on many tech devices)
  
• $123 -- late Sep ~ present (Prime Big Deal Days) = $7 savings

Because Amazon raised its prices, the net savings is really only $7.

I don’t think there’ll be any misleading marketing. The prices in the run-up to the launch have been on a par with the offers available before the price rise. We’ll see some good deals on previous-generation models and some good deals on the latest Scribe models. A Kindle Scribe 2024 (64 GB) for €260 seems like a great deal to me. I bought the Kindle Colorsoft a couple of days ago for €140.

We might see some deals on one of the new models for Black Friday.

On Amazon Spain (and elsewhere in Europe), this is certainly not the case. Discounts of around 50 per cent off current prices are equivalent to the discounts that were applied to prices prior to the price rise.

Sometimes I guess it's not even the "average ebook reader", but just what the "technology" pushes up... E.g. Kaleido's, Carta 1200/1300... now the 4,5" size (just not to read on a phone...).

Looking at the Page-Turn cover which also uses the pogo pins to connect, the images of the cover does not show any way to connect to the pogo pins for charging without removing the cover.

Your pics put the listing wording in a poor light. I no longer live in the area or I could drop into Lab126 (I have been there many times for 'desktop relocation' work. ).
