That may be, but I think my current ereader (light layer and capacitive touch layer) clarity is better then my readers that lacked these layers.

Hi, I'm a person with a physical problem using touchscreens at times. My skin does not always have the assumed conductivity/capitance that modern touchscreen use. I must hydrate with lotion or swipe a finger on my nose to use touchscreens some days. Physical buttons are more reliable for me to use.

Why not wait and see? That would let you see the early reviews and you might dodge a disaster like the first run of the Colorsofts. The price is unlikely to go up in the near future and it just might be cheaper in the run-up to Christmas, or perhaps KU will be an added freebie again.

And, while it’s not elegant, I’m content with my clip-on Bluetooth pageturner. So much cheaper!

I was prepared to wait, but it seems the upgrade pricing expires on Oct 8. And nothing will induce me to pay $40 more after that.

I wasn't aware there were clip-on ones that already work with the Kindle. Do you mind sharing the link for the one you use? This would be a much cheaper solution than buying a new Kindle just for the page turner

I’m sure there are similar ones along the same lines. It’s clunkier, obviously, compared to what Amazon is floggng, but it works perfectly well and is a boatload of bucks cheaper than a new Kindle plus clicker!

Thank you. I was just getting ready to post this. My husband has a very hard time using my touchscreen readers. He uses my Nook Glowlight 4+ with no problem.

I still have two of those registered to my account. I’ve not received anything.

I can’t trade one of them as I’ve lent them both to friends with books from calibre loaded, I don’t have anything downloaded to them from Amazon

IMHO, Readers should have stayed with IR Touch. That would mean no extra touch later and it works well. I've used IR on Sony Readers and Kobo Aura H20.

The problem you have would not exist with IR touch. Plus, the screen would look better.

Strange. Back in May, when support was cut off for the old Kindles, did you get the email offer from Amazon for the 20% off a new Kindle? I deregistered my old Kindle months ago (had to contact Amazon to get it done) but I still got the upgrade pricing
