The cover with the buttons is also not greed as it's also an option. I don't want or need buttons as the touchscreen works for me.

Greed is when they take away a highly desirable feature and then force customers to pay extra money for a secondary device just to get that feature back again.

Put the buttons back on. Make the Kindles a tad bit thicker to accommodate them. It was stupid for companies to remove them in the first place.

It was a bad idea to have a touchscreen and buttons. The buttpons should have gone when the touchscreen came.

Did Amazon FINALLY move the power button off of the bottom of the units? If so, that is the one thing I like.

No, I wouldn't get the buttons because the device doesn't have them. Whether the case has them or not is irrelevant, because I wouldn't buy the case. And the same goes for the remote. Buttons have to be part of the device, not with an accessory.

As far as I can tell, none of the kindles have rotating text. So if you want the page turn case you better be right handed.

I wonder why they increased the price of the old PW recently. I guess they didn't want the new PW to look more expensive.

I wonder if these new devices will come with a new FW to block the latest jailbreak.

I'm intrigued by the aluminum bodies and finally putting page turn buttons back, but putting the buttons in the cover is clumsier than my 2016 Oasis. When you remove its cover, it is wafer thin, light, and has page turn buttons! Granted the tiny battery in it that gets recharged by the cover is a disaster, with the readings of how much battery charge is left in the device bouncing all over the place for the last few years (and didn't get any better when I replaced that battery).

I got the Colorsoft on release day, and it's a nice unit, but it has less style (it's just not as nice to hold). And while I forget about it while reading, there's no question the Oasis's screen is nicer since it doesn't have that mesh layer. This newest Colorsoft is probably a bit better in the hand since it's aluminum and thinner, but I can't see the quality of the screen being that much better than mine.

So much for my hope they'd release a 10th anniversary Oasis this year...
