The main issue (IMHO) is the firmware. Is it still rubbish or has Amazon fixed it?

Since the clicker requires 2024+ kindles, guessing it's the end of the line for the Scribe 2022.

For me, I compared the new Colorsoft Signature edition plus the case with the page turn buttons to a Kobo Libra Colour. Kaleido 3 displays, 7" display, 32GB storage.
Hmmm... $570 Cdn ($400 US) for the Colorsoft and page turn buttons case. $335 Cdn for the Libra Colour and Kobo sleep cover case. The Libra Colour does not have an aluminum case or the pogo pin connector which reminds me of the pins on the Kobo Sage. I also lose ~30 grams of weight for the ereader (CC: 229 gms vs LC: 199.5 gms) and 24 grams for the cover though only one site mentioned the weight for the Coloursoft page turn case so the number is, IMHO, doubtful (~103 grams for the Libra Colour case vs ~127 grams for the Kindle page turn case). |

I can't believe that the $189.99 Kindle does not have a warm light. Sheesh.

Curious how the button case works since it says "No setup needed – Attach the cover and the buttons work instantly. No battery, no pairing, no charging, always ready. "
Magnetic? like a sleep cover? If so probably it could be figured out and maybe 3rd party cases or other devices will appear. |

I was hoping for something like a "Paperwhite Plus", an 8" option on the Paperwhite.
Nothing here is going to pull me away from my Oasis 3. I'll just use it until it dies, and worry about my next reader then. |

Manufacturers need to ditch their fetish for making devices thinner and thinner and in the process, they remove user wanted features like page turn buttons and headphone jacks. |
