A suggestion, though I don't know if Calibre allows it or if it's already come up before.

In light of the increasingly common issues we have these days with Cloudflare BS and failed updates, it would be nice if the job complete pop up flag were to be colored to indicate success or failure. When it takes multiple tries, sometimes many, to update a story the text all starts to look the same after a while.

Reporting a '419 Client Error' with Sofurry. Errors occur when trying to download anything from a gallery. Login details were checked and are correct. Occurs with both SFW and NSFW galleries. Details below.

So I finally noticed this when I downloaded some stories. It only happened with single-chapter fics (including ongoing fics with only one chapter). For stories with multiple chapters, as expected FFF only opens the navigate page and the work.

So, this question might already be answered and I just did not find it, in which case I would appreciate somebody just pointing at the answer.

FF.net is broken yet again and some stories only load their chapters if I skip the story-title in the URL and use pure chapter number.

Is there any way to get FFF to use the same address when checking browser cache?

Shortened URL does not seem to work as it seems to stop shortening the URL before it is short enough.

Okay, now I see it. I'll look into it, but not for today's release. I also have an for also skipping the /navigate page for users willing to do without the chapter dates.

No, there isn't. try_shortened_title_urls is what's available.

When testing try_shortened_title_urls it was random which shortened URLs worked--that's why it shortens the title instead of just removing it (like you're asking for). The no-title version was just as likely to fail as any given shortened title version, and removing letters gives more than one option to try.

Unless they've changed it to deliberately frustrate us (a possibility), I believe you were just unlucky.

I am not sure if it was changed to frustrate us or because of something else but it has been a consistent thing for several stories for at least a month or so now that all chapters works with just the number but only some of them work with any part of the title.

I understand if it is not something to prioritise and I must admit I have not checked the source code so I do not know how complex it would be to add such an option but I wanted to ask the question at least.
