My Era Lite just got a firmware update

These are the release notes I grabbed from the screen of the device

Core changes

1. Introduced a redesigned Task Manager with a modern interface for easier multitasking. It can now be quickly opened with a swipe-up gesture from the bottom edge of the screen.
2. Open apps are displayed as cards over the current screen, with quick access to system actions such as Flight mode, Lock, Screenshot, and Power off. Users can switch between thumbnail and icon views for open apps, with the selected layout saved by the system. Applications are sorted by recent activity and can be closed directly from Task Manager, while the layout automatically adapts to the number of running apps and screen size. Task Manager can also be dismissed by tapping outside the app area or using a swipe-up gesture.
3. Magazines are now supported in Libby app. Users can discover magazines in the library and search, borrow individual issues, and track what they have already checked out - all from a dedicated magazine page showing covers, issue details, and availability at a glance.
4. Added automatic Bluetooth audio connection. The device now connects to a previously paired audio device automatically - when it becomes available, when playback starts, or when Bluetooth is turned on - without any manual steps. If the connection drops, playback pauses and resumes automatically once reconnected, with a limited number of retry attempts.
5. Flac audio format support.
6. Updated the system framework to the latest versions to enhance security, reliability, and compatibility with modern technologies.
7. Upgraded the Browser app's web engine to deliver a faster, more secure, and smoother web experience, with improved support for modern websites and web technologies.
8. Fixed an issue where users could not sign in to Dropbox with two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled, as the additional authentication step did not complete and alternative verification methods failed to load.

Reading program

1. Added the ability to flip pages using on-screen buttons in Notes mode in the Reader app.
2. Fixed an issue where the device could occasionally fail to restore the last read page after resuming from sleep mode or switching on after auto power-off.
3. Fixed an issue where parts of some PDF pages could appear as black rectangles.
4. Fixed an issue where text in the dictionary view could briefly decrease in size before enlarging when using the pinch-to-zoom gesture.
5. Fixed an issue where covers of some EPUB books could not be displayed as the power-off screen.
6. Fixed an issue where the eraser could remove pencil notes with a significant delay in certain situations in the Reading application.
7. Fixed an issue where a word was not always selected for translation in Dictionary mode after turning pages using the hardware buttons in the Reading application.
8. Fixed an issue where the screen updated in parts during autorotation in the Reading application when the keyboard was open, with part of the keyboard remaining visible before the screen fully rotated.

Music Player

1. Fixed an issue where the "Unknown" genre could appear multiple times in the Music Player when sorting by genre, showing incorrect track counts.

Browser application

1. Fixed an issue where cookie consent preferences could sometimes not be saved on certain websites, causing the consent prompt to reappear after restarting the browser.

Other improvements

1. 1. Fixed an issue where the Dictionary app could crash when entering certain letter combinations.
2. 2. Fixed an issue where some book samples in the Libby app could not be opened for reading.
3. 3. Translations improvements.

Seems like they did quite a bit of work on this update. How do you like it? Notice anything not running properly since updating?

Haven't had any issues with my Era Lite, so I'm not sure if I want to bother updating if it introduces unexpected problems.

It could just be my mind playing tricks on me, but I feel like it’s a little bit faster than it was before. Other than that, I can’t say I noticed anything, cause I use this almost exclusively with KOReader.

The update broke KOReader. For some reason, the KOReader.app file was missing from the applications folder. I just copied it back over and everything was fine.
