As near as I can tell, what you're getting with the Batman Humble Bundle is a license to read those books on GlobalComix for as long GlobalComix exists. (It's possible that DC could pull the content from GlobalComix before then however, and it's unclear what would happen in that circumstance.)
Thanks.
If you might know, may I guess that onto the DC Universe Infinite app isn't different, as for what it means to read the content offline?

If you link me to the non-fullsize image, I'll try AI to fix it.

Joe Haldeman bundle now: https://www.humblebundle.com/books/j...ad-media-books

17 books at top tier, so not as good value as the Aldiss bundle.

*is it fine to add bundles from Fanatical in here, too?

There is a Blockbuster Comics collection from IDW, by the previews them seem gorgeously well painted, althought in there also:
Quote:
Download the free IDW Digital Comics Experience app on your Smartphone or tablet to redeem the products in the bundle.
From a 2024 post:
Quote:
Today, IDW Publishing revealed that its free app now offers digital readers a revamped design and improved reading experience. The app now offers a revamped search function, the ability to choose between reading horizontally or vertically, as well as offline mode, allowing readers to download comics to their device and read them at any time, regardless of an internet connection.

But that's the point: if you don't read on a smartphone or tablet, how are you supposed to read them? This is what the issue is with that; you may have a mixture of sources (each with a source-specific app) across a series, so the ability to download in a common format and consolidate into a single device or app is a necessity.

The IDW website has this:

Quote:
Can I download my digital comics purchases?
Last updated on 07 Nov, 2025

Unfortunately, our digital comics are no longer available for download. We are no longer offering DRM Free downloads at this time due to agreements with our licensors and creators to cut down on piracy.

All digital comics are available to read via the IDW App.

The IDW website has this:
I really agree, there are several android-based ereader, I feel fine within the tablet I'd found, which, honestly is a surprise on colors, though it was a nice offer for an oled, otherwise I wouldn't care to find it; and personally I don't like those "services" too.
Thought (within the dislike ) the quote doesn't really says it won't allow to download the books on app (so the non-DRM free, but the chance to read it offline - but that's still just a guess).

From the GlobalComix app, it allows to download the content, and to read it offline, thought not externally:
"Purchased titles are available for offline reading. Go Gold to save every book purchase."
Also it requires to download them singularly.

I've received an email from Humble Bumble for a 58 comic bundle.

It's Gatchaman / Speed Racer bundle.

Gatchaman was an anime series run in the US. The name was change to Battle for the Planets.

The UK price is £13.43 and the US price is $18.

https://www.humblebundle.com/books/g...-studios-books

Quote:
Catch up with Speed Racer & friends!

Dive into an all‑new interpretation of Tatsuo Yoshida’s classic manga series, Speed Racer, with our latest comics bundle! Follow the adventures of Speed, Trixie, Pops, Spritle, and Chim Chim as they race to save the day in the iconic symbol of speed and gadgetry—the Mach Five. Discover the high‑speed action of this timeless franchise! And, if that’s not enough adventure for you, we’ve included the iconic Gatchaman series for the ultimate teamup! Both legendary series are in one awesome bundle—plus, your purchase helps support the Make‑A‑Wish Foundation.

So who bought the Brian W. Aldiss collection from Humble Bundle?

Forty-one books (41) for a only $18 USD.

I'm curious.

Me!

(I want to read the Helliconia trilogy again but hate paper books, especially hardbacks like I've got for these.)

Himself is in two minds about getting it. The only one I'd like is The Malacia Tapestry which I have in paperback.

The IDW website has this:
I comfirm the app allows downloads, and to read them offline, although there is a setting on a corner (which gives the chance to scroll horizontally or vertically, and infinite scroll) that, for the options it gives, I don't see why there is not an option not to keep it in there. In vertical mode it just stucks over the comic's corners.
The X closes the read. No panels mode, also.
