Funnily, it's fine with manga epubs that are only images and have no TOC. It's about the only one that's faster, since it doesn't have to render text.

I'm glad it's on the Libra Colour only right now - my Clara BW is keeping the old firmware, and my Libra 2 and Sage can ignore this. Definitely not ready for prime time..

Someone is going to have to have a look at the database for the 6.0 firmware and see if it's compatible with the current Kobo driver. I cannot say if anything has changed or not in the database. I would hope not.

So far no issues. The only experience ted change was the standard db version update.

I will later on dump the schemas a d compare them.

Nothing to do with the book. calibre does not have the maximum database version updated. You can open the configuration dialog for the KoboTouch driver and on the 3rd page of the configuration (Metadata, on device & advanced), check the Attempt to support newer firmware box.

OK. Attached find a few files.

One of them (delta) is q sqldiff comparing schema's from V4 to V6.

There are several new tables (look for the CREATE commands), some deletions (DROP TABLE), and some columns added to existing tables (ALTER TABLE).

The dbversion has gone from 174 to 222.

Do you think any of these changes need to be incorporated into the KoboTouch driver for 6.0? I don't see anything that should be an issue, but it's good to get a second opinion.

Out of curiosity, which tools are you using to dump the schema and then compare them. I've been using SQLite Examiner to dump the schemas and then then WinMerge with the QueryJSON plugin for the comparison.

I just used the command line sqlite3 and sqldiff commands.

Sqlite3 has the .schema command; sqldiff has an option --schema that just compared the schemas.

The 5.18.264769 firmware and it's associated 220 database version are already included in calibre. The changes would involve setting the database version to 222 and the firmware version to 6.0.274403. Note that these are both the maximum before the driver will trigger an error message unless you have the Attempt to support newer firmware box checked.

I received a pop-up that went at length describing an update with the option to skip. I chose to skip. Is this the 6.x version?

I was afraid of incompatibilities, and as I side-load 99% of what I read, I wanted to make sure everything worked properly in Calibre first.

Does anything need to change in the KOBO utilities plugin or Calibre in general to support this new version?

Good to know. I've implemented the customizations (for Tolino) since version 5.x, but I haven't been able to do anything for version 6.x yet because the version for Tolino isn't available yet.

EDIT: Just a note: I wonder if it will work. The patch only updates `supported_dbversion`, but not the `max_supported_fwversion`.
