I've seen clips of the show (I will likely purchase it on DVD/Blu-Ray when it's released). The clips cover things like why doesn't Hal wear an energy construct suit like Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern (to save energy). If this is the direction the series is going to go, I think it is a good move.

I've been watching The Glory, a revenge drama from South Korea. It's about a young woman who, in high school, was brutally tortured by bullies (their torture left her so scarred that she has to wear clothing so that only her hands and head are visible) who then proceeded to destroy her life just because they could. The bullies feel safe in the knowledge that because of their wealth and family that nothing can be done to them.

Eighteen years later the young woman returns with a plan to take meticulous revenge on her bullies.

I've seen summary videos of this on YouTube, but now watching the full episodes it showed that the summary videos left many details out.

I've been watching The X-Files this week. I'm now half way through the series, at season 5 episode 15. I think this season I've arrived at the point where I started not watching regularly during the original run. It was the year I was doing my secondary school exams and back then you didn't have streaming, so were dependent on watching it when it aired or video taping it and watching it later.

It was such a busy time I just didn't have much time to watch tv.

I'm enjoying watching The X-Files again, even if it's in short binges of half seasons.

I have started watching Superstore for the first time. The physical comedy is really engaging and funny.

I watched two movies last night:

Horror in the High Desert, which was quite good until the end, which made it feel more like a monster-of-the-week episode of The X-Files.

Rings the third in The Ring series. I had seen it previously, but couldn't remember anything about it. And I'll probably forget about it again. It's okay, it does have Vincent D'Onofrio in it as a creepy guy (a type of role he's really good at).

My TBW of movies has become really long, so I'm going to try to watch movies more regularly.

Watching FIBA women's basketball - team USA out muscled the way tall China team - and the refs let them play physically without excess foul calls. Fast paced game.

I watched a couple of the Ainsley McGregor Mysteries, and the thing that stands out to me the most is that in the town of Sweetwater Texas (where the show is set), I've yet to hear a single Texas accent. The smattering of obligatory "y'all"s and "reckon"s being ridiculously shoehorned into an otherwise plain-jane midwestern accent do not count!

That reminds me of WWII movies where the German officer has a British accent. It really can put you off.

I can kind of understand it in this case. It would be pretty difficult to find all the actors you want with the right accent. And conversely having all the actors you DO want faking a southern accent (with varying degrees of success) might be a recipe for disaster too. Perhaps the stress/costs of voice lessons is such that it's easier for them to simply ignore the anomaly and just let it rip, so to speak.

But when a character who claims to have been "born and raised" in said Texas town speaks without a hint of a drawl, it CAN be a bit off-putting.

I've been watching lots of Korean (& some Chinese and Japanese) limited series romatic comedy/drama/fantasy.

Somehow the combination of reading subtitles and the visual story really satisfies my need for entertainment.

3rd season of "Colin From Accounts" on Paramount+. Rough start, but a fine finish.

Over the weekend we watched The End of Oak Street, which was okay, but not a movie I'll be rewatching soon or thinking about much.

We've also been watching My Life is Murder, which we are enjoying. Is it a great detective show? No. But it's entertaining and good to have on when you want to relax and not watch something that needs too much brain power.

I've been watching My Life is Murder. I may have 3 episodes left of the current season.
