Yes, I have never liked that the various Linux distributions unilaterally made parts of Sigil optional. As long as we handle it properly in our AppImage, then I really do not care much about what the Linux distributions decide to do. It is their bug if it fails because of changes they decided to make. The days of disk space being in short supply are long gone. General Plugin support was never to be optional. And Sigil already uses lxml and other python pieces on boot.

So I say we make it a requirement and let them deal with it.

That's fine with me. As long as it doesn't crash, I'm fine with telling people to install Pillow if they can't save Adjustments to gifs. I honestly doubt there'll be too many people editing gifs from within Sigil, though.

Sounds good. I will add the required code using try blocks and return the save failed if pil does not exist. That way they are no worse off then they are now.

Okay, I have pushed using python PIL to augment AdjustImage saving gifs to Sigil master.

Please give it a try and note, it only works with static gifs not dynamic ones.
