Yes, at some point in the future, when it's more clear if 5.x updates are going to be breaking the mods or not.

4.x releases have been mostly stable in terms of hookability, if that isn't the case with, say, the next 5.x update (a hypothetical 5.19, let's say) I'm not sure what the plan will be.

Hmm, I can't find any source code. Is it available anywhere?

I still have to make the repository public at some point, so no, not available at this time. Not yet, at least.

Some folks in the modding community (like the author of NickelMenu/NickelHook) already have access to the toolchain and my experiments. But I don't think it's ready for a public release yet. The reason is fairly simple: I want to make sure I'm not publishing anything that can be built and accidentally brick devices because I didn't do my due diligence and an update broke things.

(Because the OS is also still in early access, I'd rather wait until I know if I can publish something that will be somewhat stable across 5.x updates...)

If there's anything you'd like to know in the meantime, feel free to ask. I'd be happy to answer any questions you might have.

That's ok. I just hesitate to install a kind of a blackbox.

So funny. For Kobo users it's "Early Access", while for Tolino users it's what they've been living with for over two years. I guess it's a public beta after all. It certainly feels like it

body { text-align: %1 !important; }
i.e. a less severe override. This matches what default Nickel does for standard epubs in the Adobe renderer.
The same would be nice to have for the user font. TENG overrides every single font, RMSDK only the one set in the body tag. I prefer the latter.

Thanks, that seems to be workig well.
Is there any way to toggle this on and off with nickel menu? That would make it easier to compare the differences.

On a Mac this won't unzip properly, btw—unless one uses terminal.

Just a quick thank-you to everyone working on NickelMenu and its firmware 5.x compatibility.

KoboOPDS uses NickelMenu as its launcher inside the standard Kobo interface: it handles the interactive Wi-Fi connection, starts the local OPDS service, opens the modal Nickel browser, and provides a manual library-rescan fallback. NickelDBus then handles automatic post-download import and restores Wi-Fi to off after closing KoboOPDS when it was off before launch.

KoboOPDS: https://effecta.duckdns.org/files/koboopds/

Thank you for creating and maintaining such a useful and flexible tool—KoboOPDS would not integrate nearly as cleanly with Nickel without it.

Did you publish an update for KoboOPDS that supports firmware 5.18? I seem to have missed that.
