I have been using ereaders since 2010ish. I had a sony ereader that lasted me a very long time. Then in 2018ish I got a Kobo Libra and I fell in love with that. I never really cared to upgrade my ereaders for the longest time but then I heard about color ereaders and I got a Kobo Libra Color in 2025. This is also the first time in 15 years I decided to toy around with KOReader. I was already proficient with Calibre and I wanted to see what all the fuss was about KOReader.
Then about two months after getting my KLC I decided to get a Kindle(PW12se) to 'see how the other side lives', if you will. I ended up hating it so much. The Amazon walled garden was so lame and even though I could email books to my Kindle I hate how they edited my epubs I sent over and made them look worse. I ended up quitting after a week. I looked into setting up KOReader on my Kindle and it wasn't that hard. Three days later Kindle would update its firmware and I don't think it has been cracked yet(I could be wrong) And finally, this year in July I got one of those XTEINK X4 micro ereaders. I was sold by a bunch of influencers making videos. It was neat for about a month until the novelty wore off and then I was back to my Kindle. I love the idea of this tiny ereader but the truth is I was never in a situation where my KLC or Kindle was too much of an encumbrance to ever necessitate the purchase of this device. I definitely regret it the most. As for which I like better? I mean I mostly just read epub novels and they look better on the Paperwhite than on the KLC. The majority of my time is spent on the Kindle but I use the KLC to read Calvin and Hobbes. I used to have to go to KLC for Libby as I'm Canadian but I found a KOReader plugin that makes Libby work on the Kindle in Canada so I don't even need to open the KLC outside of Calvin and Hobbes. To answer your question directly, I currently have a Kobo Libra Color, a Kindle Paperwhite 12th generation signature edition, and a XTEINK X4. |

Thank you for an interesting thread and many good questions from MR members.
I am interested in the Boox Go 7. Is it possible to adjust the font weight? Does it have a good dictionary? I read mostly in English and English is my second language. |

The supplied dictionary is the 1913 Webster, so, no, it's not good. However, it's possible to load additional dictionaries. It supports multiple formats. Examples given in the relevant app are StarDict, MDict, Deep Blue Dictionary, Babylon etc. I've loaded a Kobo dictionary, and use that. |
