Grimmory question

Hello to all readers. As I am implementing now Grimmory sync I am surprised by what is possible with it and how easy Grimmory works.

Grimmory will sync progress, bookmarks, highlights, notes and reading sessions between justread and Grimmory itself.
And when KOReader connected, then between all three.

I never used Booklore and Grimmory, but having it running locally on my computer with all the other devices connected is a really nice thing to have.

I know, this forum is mainly about Calibre and Grimmory is a kind of competitor here, but I am curious.... how many of you are using Grimmory?

I had it installed on my raspberry pi but I’ve replaced it with BookOrbit for some time now. BookOrbit is a lot more lightweight than Grimmory (which is Java based).

Both cannot replace Calibre as they don’t support plugins.

Hi rantaplan, thank you for the response, BookOrbit is also in the roadmap, so in the future, this will be done (and maybe sooner than later, when I am already deep into Booklore and the 'design' is the same).

It has now options to add torrent and other trackers for downloading pirated ebooks. Technically it also has plugins for librivox and project gutenberg but come on...

It turns out that the developer of BookOrbit is the same dude that also was the main contributer of BookLore, before it imploded. Yes, the one that had an AI-psychosis.

Well, time to migrate away, I guess. Man, this is shit.

Hi, you can test Grimmory, I was surprised how nicely it works and looks (kinda the same as BookOrbit).

About that reddit post: will read it (as I remember it about BookLore).

I am a grimmory-newbie and played a little bit with it today. Is it correct that I have to decide if I get my books from calibre or from grimmory in justread? The same book from calibre or from grimmory is not detected as the same book so I have the book twice in the App.

Yes, that is correct, every book from either Calibre or Grimmory or BookOrbit has a unique id, meaning the same book from all three are three different id's and if synced from all three will be in justread thrice.
