I don't see eBooks.com defaulting to LCP. You have to choose which DRM you want for eBooks with DRM. Download to Windows or Mac is LCP and Some e-readers is Adept (Adobe).

I have tried on both windows and mac. Someone on reddit said something about copying a file to a new folder but I am not sure which folder that is. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you.

Did you read the README.md file in the .zip file? If not, please read the Usage section.

Just to make it clear, that file is not a calibre plugin. as the README.md says "A patch to fix LCP DRM removal in NoDrm’s Dedrm or its forks".

Thanks for this - even though the webpage is down, I was able to compile the command line tool and use it for my LCPDFs. The Calibre DeDRM patch discussed in this thread works great for epubs, but doesn't seem to be able to handle the way they do PDFs now, with the actual PDF inside the LCPDF and the license info also inside the LCPDF in a separate LCPL file.

I've been using the LCP DeDRM Web html file i got from Epubor which seems to be the same.
I use it for .lcpa files and it works great in most cases but sadly it fails every time if your file is too big for it to process (+800Mo do not work for me).
I'm looking for a way to bypass that limitation but i'm afraid it is above my skills... Still i'm glad it exists.

Ok, I spent some times digging.
I don't have much RAM and using the .html version via Chrome takes a lot of memory (up to 5Go) and maybe that's why the process fail for my larger .lcpa files.

The way around I found regarding this size problem for .lcpa was to go back to the original source, copy the files and compiled a lcpdedrm.exe for CLI commands (it also works with rust command as told in description). Big files works properly that way.

For those who don't want to play, the fastest solution would be to create 2-3 copies of the .lcpa file you fail to decrypt, open it with 7z/WinRar and remove parts of the mp3 files inside, so you end up with 2-3 smaller .lcpa files which can be processed without fail.

I know people here use the tool mostly for ebooks but I hope it can help some audioreaders too

I'm going to test this because my library has switched to LCP DRM. I'm going to be just fine because I have a pocketbook device but my MIL has specifically bought a Kobo to borrow romance novels from the library and she's very unhappy with this change.

Given that she refuses to buy any books that are available at the library, I now have a choice between these amazing options:

- Tell her to buy a different device
- De-drm every single Lucinda Riley's book that she sends to me
- Teach her to remove LCP DRM
- Teach her to pirate books




I can also confirm that Send to Pocketbook does not work for .lcpl files at this moment, the device claims that it has received one file but the book doesn't appear anywhere in the UI.

If your mom uses a current Kobo, update to the preview version 5.18 and enjoy native support for lcpl files.
