jxl support

Hi!

Came across this project and I was trying to convert a cbz archive with jxl (jpeg xl) files within it. Any plans to support that format in the future?

Also, is your project open source?

Thanks!

Hi!

I will try to implement jxl support in next update. Probably within a week. Thanks for informing.

If you you have any other feature idea please do mention. I am always looking for improvement ideas directly from users.

Project is currently not opensource. Its feature list is derived from KCC but it is completely rewritten in kotlin from the ground up and is optimized for lower end androids.

Thank you.

Post [Update] KinBo - 3.0.0 : JPEG XL, AVIF & HEIC/HEIF Support

Hi everyone,

A new update for KinBo is now live on Google Play, introducing support for modern image formats and improvements to background conversions.

What's New:
  • Expanded Image Format Support: Added native decoding support for modern and high-efficiency formats, including JPEG XL (.jxl), AVIF (.avif), and HEIC/HEIF (.heic, .heif) across comic archives (CBZ/ZIP), folder inputs, and EPUBs.
  • Seamless Background Conversions: When navigating away, swiping to the background, or switching apps while a conversion is running, returning to KinBo now always keeps you directly on the active processing screen with live progress and logs.
  • General Improvements: Improved app lifecycle handling, memory optimizations during image decoding, and stability tweaks.

Download / Update:
Get KinBo on Google Play

Thanks as always for your continuous feedback and support.
Happy reading!
