I can't get this to work. I try to click the button and it says I have to choose a column, but the only options it gives me aren't the columns I would want to use. Help?

You probably need to add some custom columns, see ==>> https://github.com/kiwidude68/calibr...custom-columns

And then configure the plugin to use those custom columns.

I am no longer getting page counts after linking to Goodreads. Count Pages worked yesterday, but doesn't today. The log is below:

Don't bother to report linking to Goodreads not working as a bug. It no longer works because of Goodreads tightened security. It's dead Jim!

Someone posted a fix on the GitHub, but it hasn't been merged/released in a plugin update.

I was able to copy the added code into the download.py file in C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\calibre\plugins\ Count Pages.zip - then opened Calibre, ran the plugin on a book, and it worked. So that is an option for those who are comfortable doing that.

Thanks for the heads up, and to ParzivalSan (if you're on here) for the fix itself

I've got minimal, close to non-existent, technical abilities when it comes to these things. So for anyone like me, it was as simple as:
1. extracting the files from the plugin zip
2. opening the download.py file in a text editor (eg. Notepad++)
3. following this LINK, copy and insert the green highlighted section between existing lines 100 and 101 (ie. you are not replacing any existing code, as I initially assumed, but adding lines of code to it.
4. save it, replacing the existing download.py file
5. zip it all up and install plugin as you normally would in Calibre

For those who don't feel comfortable with modifying files in a .zip container, I've attached the modified file to this message with ParzivalSan's patch installed. the version was left at 1.15.2 to not interfere with the next official update.

I tested it on 6 books which required me to grab the goodreads ID for each. The word count for each was okay and matched what I already had but on 2 of them, the page count did not return a result. One book that returned word count but not page count was Feral Ambition, goodreads ID: 256590502.
