There's is now a new firmware. Try installing that. It's 4.38.23697.

It's also possible that the scanning process is stuck due to a corrupt Epub. Unfortunately I think you'll have to track that down by hand by deleting any recently added and un-indexed books

It's been a long while since I've performed this task on my Kobo, and that was a Forma. Please forgive any and all questions where the answer seems obvious.

Will this patch work for the Elipsa 2e? I see it noted for the Libra 2. The 4.38.23684 update also applied to the Elipsa 2e, though I can't assume to know if they apply the same patches to different models.

If anyone has attempted this with the Elipsa 2e, or knows enough to give me a highly-probable answer, I would be grateful.

It should work for Elipsa 2e. The firmware version is what counts. Anyway, it won't brick your Elipsa, even if for some mysterious reason it doesn't work, so there's no reason not to try. The worst that can happen is that it won't work. But it likely will.

It should work for the Elipsa 2e. Back when I posted this, this was only released for the Libra 2. If you enable any patch that gives an error, please post in here to let us know. Thanks.

Bricking would be my only real concern. Not working? Eh. Yeah. A minor annoyance. I've had to recreate my libraries and collections after "sync" issues (probably my fault, cancelling a sync in progress instead of letting it ride) three times this year. I can always find my place. And if I lose highlights, fine. Notes I do by hand anyway.

Turns out I'm running version 4.38.23697. If I use the 4.38.23684 patch and download/put in folder(?) 4.38.23684 firmware, this should revert to 4.38.23684, correct?

Forgive again my pitiful attempts at a question. After several years I do not recall how it works, and this is not my native language! And thank you, of course.

Edit: I also see a patch for 4.38.23697 @ https://www.mobileread.com/forums/sh...d.php?t=373791 -- I assume it's the same "should work" as with the 23684 patch. It may be a better option as I don't see the software update 23684 for elipsa 2e @ the pgaskin website. More apologies for my confusion. I hope someone can mop this confusion I create

No. You must downgrade your Elipsa to 4.38.23684 before you apply the patches for this firmware. If this firmware is not available for Elipsa 2e, use the patches for 23697.

Never apply any patches that are different from the firmware your device is on.

Although that's solid advice, I must say that in my experience, when the older patches apply cleanly without any errors to the newer firmware, the result will work. Many patches are smart that way, and pretty version-agnostic.

But if applying the patches throws any error but does create an output file (most of the time it won't), I would not install said file.
