Install Error Fixed

I used AI to diagnose the issue and fix it. I'm back in business. Thanks for taking a look.

What was your fix in case anyone has the same error?

From what I read, it looked like a libcryto error of some kind.

1. macOS hardened runtime library validation (not Gatekeeper) blocked loading libraries with mismatched Team IDs. The DeACSM plugin's oscrypto module attempted to load OpenSSL's libcrypto.dylib, and the code signatures (aka Team IDs) didn't match.
2. Re-signing Calibre with an ad-hoc signature removed its Team ID enforcement requirements, allowing the ACSM_Input plugin to be installed.

How do you re-sign calibre with an ad-hoc signature in MacOS?

I am trying to get this configured before MacOS 27 comes out and I lose ADE.

When I try to link it to my ADE account the login fails. I have confirmed that my login info is valid (I logged into the Adobe website with it).

Is this maybe related to the ByteBooks transition?

I don't have any books in ADE at all. I only use it as a passthrough to get books from the library into Calibre.

Never mind

It was related to the ByteBooks transition. I created a new account there and it was smooth sailing afterwards.

ADE will work in macOS 27 if you manually install Rosetta.

Support for Rosetta is ending with macOS 28, I believe?

Will the ADE version in the App Store not work? I already have the version of ADE that I downloaded from Adobe a while ago installed on this machine, so I haven't tried the App Store version.

I think there will be something to replace Rosetta 2 by the time MacOS 28 comes around.

If there will be a replacement for Rosetta to be used in macOS 28 or later, it won't come from Apple. Apple has made it clear that the Intel era is over. I'm still keeping a trio of Core i7 minis- one for a Serviio mdia server, a second for its backup, and a third for some app I don't know that I'll need until the time comes...probably Livecode.
