Yes, I've never had issues with my Oasis 3 battery. Don't believe it's all of them.

Battery Drain solution(for me)
Hi all, not sure if this help, but this is what I tried to solve my battery drain issue. My Kindle Oasis 10th gen battery would drain from 100% to 18% in under 24 hours. I asked for a warranty replacement from Amazon and I still had the battery drain problem with my new Kindle.
My Solution: If you're on wifi, charge your Kindle and turn on Airplane mode. After doing this my battery life was great. 1-2% drain over a few hours. My Kindle was repeatedly trying to hit Amazon's AD servers every couple seconds killing the battery (This was the server name for the tech savvy unagi-na.amazon.com). In my case my firewall was blocking this URL. I'm still testing, but you may have to cough up the $20 for the AD free option to stop this then turn on WIFI again. Hope this helps! |

*sigh* I wish I saw your message before I paid it. Battery still took a significant hit without ADs and wifi on, but nowhere near as bad. I'm satisfied with Airplane mode + Dark mode.

Honestly, it seems to me like sufficiently modern Kindles on sufficiently modern firmware sometimes get into a state where they drain the battery even if plugged in and the only way out is to restart them.
It seems to be related to loading books and my guess is the CPU ends up stuck at the full clock speed rather than throttling back to the idle speed. |

5.16.2.1.1 firmware for oasis 3 8gb is way far better than 5.18.x. And charging from 0% to 100% also helps me

Downgrade worth it?

Did you downgrade yours? was it worth it? was it more sleep/idle drain that was the problem for you or was it during reading? |

I think the issue with replacing a battery on the Oasis 3 is that after the OPERATION, the Oasis might resemble something like this attachment.

I have the original Oasis, and at one point a few years ago the battery was acting weird. Besides not lasting more than a few hours, the battery percentage would stay pegged at 100% for a while, then plummet fast (-1% every minute or so), then stay at 0% for a while, then die unexpectedly.
I replaced the battery (you can pry off the back on that model), but it didn't help, so my assumption is it's the firmware or something else native to the device that just can't read the battery properly. The battery in the cover, trying to keep the device topped off all the time, probably doesn't help matters. Yesterday, after not using it for a couple of years, I dragged it out and charged it up, so we'll see how it behaves after that long a discharge. I will say it's still, by far, the best reading experience. I love how thin and light it is, the way it feels in the hand, the buttons, and the screen quality, My Colorsoft definitely has ever so slightly softer text and you can see the mesh texture, both due to the extra screen layer (although I can only tell these things if I hold it close to my eyes). I really wish they'd bring this thing back. |
